Does anyone have the Exhaust System from Summit Racing....
PaceSetter Monza Cat-Back Performance Exhaust Systems

If so can you tell me if it sounds good? Because I want that Exhaust system... But i dont want it to sound the same as what I already have (Stock) Then agian I dont want that Civic Rice Burner sound either... haha...

I have a 2.2 Ecotec... Everything Is stock... (Except my Shift Knob and Windshield Wipers.... HAHA)

THANKS!!!!

IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE

I'll try to find the video someone put up of the Pacesetter cat-back on the 2.4L. It's worse than the worst Honda ricer. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRHWaCCnqXE

Have a custom setup made at your local muffler place. Put a Magnaflow straight through muffler after the cat, then piping to a Dynomax Super Turbo. It'll be a little more aggressive with a lot more flow but have absolutely no rasp, no rice. Here's what that sounds like, well, with boost: http://www.ion-productions.com/exhaust/exhaust1.wmv

Anything on an inline motor sounds ricey.

I've seen videos of Trailblazers and Envoys on Youtube and they have the 4.2 I-6 motor. Good motor, but muffler wise, sounds ricey, although at a higher RPM

I have the pacesetter for the 3.4L and it sounds good, but please for the love of all that is good and holy do not put it on a 4 cylinder. It will sound like a lawnmower. I vote you take ion's advice.

So from what I can understand... It is almost impossible to avoid the Ricer sound on a 4 Cycle..... unless I get it all Custom???

Any idea on price range?? :P

[ion] C2 12-30-2008 11:17 AM

No it's unless you get the right components. All exhaust systems are custom besides the one and only Pacesetter cat-back that you order.

Dynomax is like $50, Magnaflow is like $40. Plus cost of tubing plus install at the muffler shop.

Guitar_B 12-30-2008 11:23 AM

where can you find a Magnaflow for 40$.... Everywhere i look its 150$.... Then agian I live in an Igloo.. I mean Canada...

[ion] C2 12-30-2008 11:25 AM

or $58.62
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magna...Q5fAccessories

Dynomax for like $50
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

Although you might want to check out their part numbers on their site and find which one you want. Different inlet/outlet size, different offset, what do you want? single out, dual out whatever

Guitar_B 12-30-2008 11:28 AM

So do i just look for a Magnaflow straight through muffler?? Im a noob when it comes to cars....

I would think there are Sizes... Like 2 1/2... But then agian... Im a Canadian Noob...

Guitar_B 12-30-2008 11:49 AM

Sorry.. I posted after you replied... haha

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELPFUL INFO... I wish I was rich so i could turn my car into one big mod... haha...

"Sir, what kind of Lexus is this...." "Um... its an alero...?" "Oh... Sorry Sir... Have a Nice day"

Are you more concerned with how the exhaust sounds or how it performs?

You have an Eco so it's not going to sound like Ion's car even with an identical setup.

You must not have heard many 4 cylinders with an aftermarket exhaust.

[ion] C2 12-30-2008 04:17 PM

my vid's crappy lol, it sounds a lot deeper in person

Redog 12-30-2008 04:47 PM

I know I always push the Flowmaster button here, but I heard a Flowmaster 40 on a Cavalier with a 2.4, OMG rice and very loud too

meadus101 12-30-2008 04:48 PM

LOLBOOST

Yea, I'd just tack on a Magnaflow on to the Stock Piping. Just me.

Redog 12-30-2008 05:50 PM

The Summit turbo Muffler is cheap and is a straight thru design also. Check that out and see if that's what you want

AbHeLlRaZoR 12-30-2008 07:19 PM

2 and 1/4 piping from the cat-back and topped off with a Magnaflow muffler my system came up to $475 cad, I'm currently trying to upload a video to my fquick, but the video won't do u justice.

AbHeLlRaZoR 12-30-2008 07:32 PM

http://www.fquick.com/videos/viewvideo.php?id=7805 Yeah I know its been a while since I got the exhaust done.
