I detail cars at work buttt i make more on the side doing it but at any rate..

Poor Boy Products
Swirl removers
carnuaba waxes
sealants
polishing wax

the stuff is absolutely amazing. I use these products usually about twice a summer on the car (buff it twice per summer) and it just gets everything out. I've had several people ask if my car has been repainted due to the near flawless condition of the paint. Nope, just buff with these products.

Never had a customer complain, usually only jaw drops.

So yeah, use Poor Boy Products if you want that new car finish haha
(i dont suggest trying to high speed buff your car though if you have never done so before)

I used the meguiars. Does the job. I use the craftman el cheapo buffer, which also get the job done. Can't go wrong with one speed.

for generic brands meguiars is pretty good. i prefer mothers and zymol over it but they all are about the same. the poor boy is more on the same level as like ardex...although the ardex i have to special order through the owners at the car wash. its seriously expensive too.

for a buffer i have a 6 speed porter cable...absolutely love it. low speeds for the carnuaba and polish and higher speeds for the scratch removing. also got like a million different pads. nice little set up if you ask me haha

I find that the Meguires Carnuba wax only lasts a cople of weeks, then water doesn't bead any more. Supposedly most other Carnuba waxes are about the same WRT longetivity as well.

The Wax Shop HD carnuaba was is what i use. once a year even tho it lasts so long it never actually needs it by then.

I use liquid glass car wax and the liquid glass cleaner. Nothing is better, and you should see the crap the cleaner pulls off...it isn't exactly the cheapest stuff, but if used right it will last a while. I'm still on my last can and bottle that I bought last summer.

You can't really hurt your car with a Porter Cable. I use Zaino and Prima products with mine. Black Wow for the trim and it always looks great.

Ive had really good results with Turtle Wax F21 Polish. I remember using it on my cousins Escort GT which was looking pink before we polished it. After the polish, the Pinks turned red and the faded blacks got really black. Our uncles and aunts were all wondering how we had done that. I also used it on my Delta (got good results as well). What I dont know is if you should wax the vehicle afterwards or not (since it is a polish and not a wax).
