okay, as you guys are aware i am going all out when i get back and i need to know if anyone has successfully put a supercharger or turbocharger on their car. also, what performance chips are out there? i have only seen one for a grand am that supposedly works for the alero. i will tell you guys that the jackal (stock) consistently beat my buddies 2001 v6 firebird redlight to redlight.

john (springsfastestalero)put a supercharger successfully in a alero. Not sure exactly what else he put into the car

i think crazytaxi did too

nguyen has the 4 cyl, right? He's the only one that I know of who has turbo'ed his Alero.

Chips: You have ASE and DHP right now.

Did we lose that link tha mfuller posted of that place in Illinois that can do our chips?

That place looked quite promising!

Magnacharger used to make a S/C kit for the Alero, but I don't think they do anymore. S/C or turbo are really the way to go if you want more hp from a 3400. The engine can handle boost, but CAI, exhaust, porting, or just about anything else these guys will tell you to do will burn out a couple of heads. Or, the best bang for your buck would be a new cam. It's just a little tricky to get into the bottom of the motor, but can be done through the inner fender.

You can go with a wet nitrous system, too. As long as you're not stupid with it, it shouldn't cook your engine! I'll grab the DHP post and bring it over.

Ok found the link on my work computer. :D

This may be a very good place to get our PCM done.

Supercharger on an alero,,,,,hmmm OK now i'm intersted in knowing more about this too.

Alerosince99 11-20-2003 10:19 PM

Wait about 6 months or so and John from APOC should be ready with a twin screw sc kit.

jackal2000 11-22-2003 04:22 PM

^^^whats the estimated price tag on that kit?

StealthAlero 11-22-2003 04:49 PM

he doesn't know. He's still making the kit.

Thats a 10-4.

I believe John is working on a few things to make sure his car can handle the supercharger such as internals, suspension ect. But this chager should be more than enough to make our cars go, go, go! :D

jturkey69 11-24-2003 03:38 PM

thats what i thought, i did talk to him a lil bit about it back when his old one was for sale. ill have to wait and see how impatient i get to add some boost...or maybe the turbo kit.

as far as internal work...as long as hes not gonna boost it to 20 psi...get some nice arp rodbolts, and some decent pistons, and all should be ok. i still dont like the offset rod throws, but it should handle some boost...up to at least 13 to 14

Alerosince99 11-24-2003 03:50 PM

I think he was doing forged pistons and rods. Can't remember now. Wish he would start a sticky thread on here about it too.

Has anybody bought the PCM from c-yaracing.com? If so, how is it?

The price is pretty good and does anybody know where the PCM is?

Alerosince99 12-07-2003 06:11 PM

I just had some emails back with him and he said they were currently working on the calibrations for the aleros. I dont think they are quite ready for prime time yet but I would guess they will be pretty soon.

The PCM is located under the drivers side dash towards the door side.
You have to take the molding off around at the bottom of the door, then you peel the carpet back. There is also a panel under dash that you have to remove, there is one screw holding it in and it also slides onto a post on the firewall, then there are two bolts that hold the plugs on the pcm and secure it to the car. They don't actually come all the way out of the plugs you just have to loosen them until you can pull the plugs loose. Then you just push the release lever over to the side and the PSC should start to slide down. You have ot hold all the cables out of the way and it's a tight fit but it's really easy to do after you've done it a few times.
