Mpracing Torque link-Install

1 Attachment(s)
So, I bought a torque link off a guy on the grand am site I know its an easy install Im just trying to figure out how it mounts to the engine? Any ideas?

Here is a pic of where it needs to bolt up I just need to know how to orientate it.

If its the mount I'm thinking of, doesn't it bolt to the black bar right there on the side of the head, beside the thermostat hose?

Any pics of this part? I'm curious as to what it is. It's not one of them arms that bolts between the engine and the rad support like on older fwd is it?? If it is then it won't work without could moding

I think he's talking about the strut tower bar. After looking on mpracing's site i saw its the bar...effers don't even know what to call it ;) It bolts to the strut tower bolts....3 on each side and it goes over the engine. Do you have the part? It shouldn't be very confusing.....there isn't anywhere for it to mount on the engine....lol...it has to mount on the body....

got some problems if you're calling a strut bar a torque link...

That's exactly the pic Im following kinda lame should I just use the hole that is already in the engine hook? I didn't know if anyone else had a pic of there's on the website.

What's lame? the bar? If you have a front AND back it will help A LOT....take the car out for a drive without them on then put them both on at the same and go for a drive....you will notice a BIG difference. Its a simple install...take the 3 bolts on each side out, put bar over holes and put the bolts back in. DONE. The back one isn't as quick...just tight with your hand in there and then a rachet....but their both simple installs.

pictures?

Finally got it installed. Pics will be up tomorrow, i'm to busy right now.

Start up was a little interesting... The link would vibrate like crazy until the engine finished the start up process. I think the best thing to do now would be to buy some polyurethane and cut out a piece to go between the link and the engine bay.

Ebay has some:

Thoughts???

billytheman1188 10-02-2012 09:29 PM

It shouldn't rattle.....idk how loose that thing is but it shouldnt be loose AT ALL....those 6 bolts should keep it from vibrating.

happyisthealero 10-02-2012 10:46 PM

Billy its a torque link, not the strut bar...

billytheman1188 10-02-2012 11:26 PM
