how to replace power steering pressure hose

How limber and acrobatic does one have to be to replace a power steering pressure hose on a 1999 Alero with the 3400 engine? Is it easy to do with the proper hose wrenches, or is something that's a pian in the butt enough to take to a mechanic?

I am having the same problem and i am tired of smelling burn steering fluid when it drips onto the exhaust manifold and my car smoking. I am going to just get a new tank and pressure hose

maybe you should talk to it about the risks and dangers of cylinder cancer.

It'll go away eventually.. Just make sure you keep the fluid level good.

I was told to jack up and support the car.. start the motor and turn the wheels to the stop points in both directions a few times, center tires and check/top up fluids, repeat until you see no fluid change/ noises stop.

The mechanic that looked at my car said he had to raise the car, and lower the sterring rack. He said his hands won't fit up inside to change that end of the hose? Gonna call GM tomorrow and ask them.

With my medical condition, $60.00 is a hell of a deal. Plus the insurance it was most likely done right. He is the guy who replaced all four of my rotors, and the two front hubs for me. The back rotors where lamost gone. They had been metal on metal for a while. Only reason Ididn't care about them, was I knew I was going to be putting on new rotors. I got some drilled and slotted on all four corners now. Stops are alot smoother than before.
