Help me pick a tire

So I fell through on my last tire purchase. I need new tires. they need to be 225/50/16 or thinner sidewall: What I'm looking for
(1)DW and maybe even S
(2)Performance, with high speed rating
(3)Aggressive looking
(4)good handling (sticky)
(5)good tread wear

Any Ideas?

Heard alot about the Khumo Escta Line.

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 09:34 PM

you can stretch a 205 tire to a 225 rim right?

I'd have to guess so if the drift cars can do this

are you dating the tire??

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 09:43 PM

almost  IDK I just think a tire can make or break a car, I thought alot of people were like that, maybe I'm the only one

Nate's Alero 10-12-2009 10:02 PM

kumho estica!!!

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 10:04 PM

I think thats what I'm going to go with, but I might try and stretch a 205/40/r16 on rather than a 225/50/r16

... or maybe even a 195/50R16

you're an idiot if you do that....

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 10:06 PM

y do you say that

Vic28 10-12-2009 10:21 PM

I think you want a vdub  .. .First you wont get the look of stretch with those tire size. 2nd you will need hella wide rims lol. 3rd stretching tire is not that smart.. and 4th(for the record) learn what will change by you changing the overall diameter of tires.
Shit I thought you were smarter with the skills that you have engine wise and stuf...

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 10:32 PM

haha I never said I was smart

But I don't plan on having a HUGE stretch. very mild. I just think I t would be something different. Thats how I make half my money is coming up with weird ideas, sometimes they work sometime they don't. But it's just an idea.

... And I'm more fueled by the fact I have never tried to do it.
We will see where I'm at in a few days when the credit card actually comes out and gives it's opinion

and Fyi: Formula 1 stretches tires - so it is a proven design (not saying my car is anywhere near formula1 )

I thought you wanted traction and performance... stretching a tiny tire isn't going to give you the best surface contact or safety. You want the fattest tire you can fit.

Here's the tire you want. I'd never get anything else now that I have them.

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 10:37 PM

And see all I needed was ION to make me not want to do it, Those are some BADASS tires, You like the feel of them Ion? They stick good in the rain?

[ion] C2 10-12-2009 10:50 PM

eff yeah they do. I had them put on during the rain and noticed a MASSIVE increase in grip. I actually thought something was wrong with my car haha. Super sticky. Amazing performance.

Key feature
Dry
Wet

bkathsalero 10-12-2009 10:53 PM

Sweet, How's the noise, little research shows that some people complain others don't mind. As long as they don't sound like super swampers going down the road I'll be fine.

131$ ea, going to order on wed

[ion] C2 10-12-2009 10:54 PM

Ha, it sounded sweet when I first got them. And then you get used to it and don't notice it. People who complain about them are pussies. They aren't that noticeable.

If you knew anything about tires than you would know when to not be a homo and appreciate something manly.

And, theres a problem with KDW tires when you live in the north. THEY ARE SUMMER TIRES. If you need to drive in the snow with a K series BF goodrich tire, you need KDWS tires. K-Dry-Wet-Snow
