shaved :)

i am in the process of shaving the front emblem....
so far all it needs is to be gloss coated...

(bdyman take it easy on me lol)

and for those who said spot painting it would not work well i think you will be suprised ;)

FrankTheTank 06-07-2009 06:31 PM

nice pics

worknprog.99 06-07-2009 06:36 PM

i will have the finished product pics tomorrow afternoon

bdyman 06-07-2009 07:56 PM

i dont see any pics so i cant say anything, did you do it with plastic repair material and not bondo?? and or figerglass?? are you using a actual paint system, or using rattle can, which me professionaly just wont give the correct blending effect that a real paint system will
it could flake off, when you blend the clear you wont get it to lay dont right and when you buff the blend it might roll off
i dunno what do i know right??

pimpalero2003 06-07-2009 11:45 PM

Or if used bondo or glass did you drill holes?

bdyman 06-07-2009 11:48 PM

dude it doesnt stick no matter what you do, bottom line, evercoat makes a plastic repair "bondo" but then again our bumpers are what??? TPE OR SOME YRS ARE TPO,, which means what??? it is a what??? a offlien thermo set plastic which means what??????

that plastic need a adheshiion promoter for any material to stick, and no bondo will not stick, ugggggggg

worknprog.99 06-08-2009 12:05 AM

it was filled with some plastic filler shit i got from the guy doing the painting... he is the touch up guy vender from my work.... and yes he is using professional paint sprayer and paint....

pimpalero2003 06-08-2009 03:54 AM

And sir yes it will!!
Go on fiberglass forums ask Richie gr1m to glass doors and shit drill holes to get it to stick.

bdyman 06-08-2009 06:49 AM

i doubt richie is going to argue with me that body filler sticks to plastic, sorry, we dont use body filler to repair plastic either, or customize plastic, is scot center console bondo??? nope its all plastic, is my rear bumper bondo?? nope its all plastic

and good to know that your buddy is doing it the right way you will be satisfied with the results in the long run, it will look better, and last as long as you have the car and yrs after that

and i will never listen to grim....lol....sorry will never happen

if my boss saw me using bondo or fiberglass on plastic i would be fired, we would loose statefarm, and would be known as a hack shop, i dont care what you or anyone else says, it doesnt stick, i have to redo plastic becasue it was repaird the wrong way, i really wish i would have taken pictures of the plastic that was repaired the wrong way with your magical drilling of holes and you could see the lack of adheshion, and how bondo just cracks right off

i dont give a rats ass if my savior came to me and said it sticks i will tell him it dont

Nate's Alero 06-08-2009 08:03 AM

hey, you still have the little olds emblem that went into the hole?

worknprog.99 06-08-2009 12:50 PM

no lol thats why im replacing it... it was the gold one and for whatever reason it started to turn green..!!! so i decided to elliminate it altogether haha

pimpalero2003 06-08-2009 01:13 PM

Ok I'll grab pics of my unfinshed door panels that have been out side for a year and still no cracks.

worknprog.99 06-08-2009 05:08 PM

Pics!!!

ok so in the close up the grey is my reflection of my shorts NOT the paint on the bumper....

colonel6632 06-08-2009 05:22 PM

not bad at all... but with the reflection of your shorts you can see where the round logo used to be.... but still a thumbs up from me

worknprog.99 06-08-2009 05:48 PM

^^^actually you really cant lol. it really is just the way the reflection is

meadus101 06-08-2009 06:42 PM

Shiny.

bdyman 06-09-2009 11:37 AM

dont listen to that guy, if it was done right and he let the material dry, you wont see the body work shrink and ya wont see a ring
how much did this run ya

worknprog.99 06-09-2009 11:50 AM

it cost me nothing... i filled it myself and he sprayed it for free. so just materials at my house.. but the paint and clear was free... so like 10 dollars
