now, i know there is 2 coolant hoses coming out of the coolant rail that lead into the TB and run coolant through the TB to warm it up in a circulation type of way.

anyways what i was wondering was.... if i were to plug up all 4 of these holes, and just basically not allow coolant to go through my TB, i wouldnt be hurting anything would i?

i know it would basically be like a carbuerator, and run "sh1tty until warmed up" as some people would say.

but the only reason that coolant loop into the TB is there, is for the TB to be warm on cold start ups right? and seeing as how summer is around, there wont really be any cold starts, and i also park in my garage, so in the mornings its a relative room temperature in the garage. so i think i would be safe right? opinions on this would be appreciated. :popc1:

I don't know if i would plug the ends on the coolant pipe, I would probably just connect them together so that it wouldn't hurt the flow rate. You can just leave the throttlebody side open, doesn't make a difference there.

i did that on my TB .. just goto autozone and get some hose and where the coolant pipe is just re-route it.

theres a how to on n-body.net under their tech section under performance. They have all the supplies you need and etc.

so hows you car run?

completely POINTLESS mod...............your TB is already hundreds of degrees just from being under the hood and right above your exhaust manifold and it's connected to your inatake manifold which is hot as hell to because its sitting right on your block! This MIGHT cool the TB down MAYBE 2 degrees or so lol....but I bet the coolant is in thermal equilibrim with the rest of the motor so I doubt it's hurting anything...it's pry the exact same temp as the TB itself. This would be a complete waste of your time.

i dunno......the coolant just seems to add more heat to it..... the outside maybe as hot as the UIM but the butterfly being cooler is waht matters

why are you posting that....

just do it....it isnt hard to put back if something messes up....tip of advise though: put a pan or something under ur car before you pull those coolant lines off the TB....cuz there's quite a bit of coolant that'll pour out...also, remember to top off ur coolant tank when you're done...I'd also make sure ur car is cooled down before you do it...otherwise it can spray and it's hot (obviously...thats y ur doin the mod)....I still dont think it'll help you ONE bit...but hell, why not? But if ur car wont start well in the winter...you'll know where the problem is.

I'd still never do this to my car...

and Ken...250?...that's a lotta HP...i dont know about that...unless you're talking crank HP then I can see that but 250 at the wheels is impossible w/ this mod LOL

uhhh anyways.... there isnt even an ounce of coolant that comes out of those little hoses, when the engine is cooled off and depressurized.... so no need for the pan and top off.

i also said this would be for the summer anyway, i never said i wanted it for the winter and only the winter.

Kyle, you'd be better off just buying heat wrap for the exhaust piping that runs under the TB and intake tubing
