Cold air intake!

Can a cold air intake make a big difference at all at the track because I raced a GTP when I was stock and he beat me by a door length but when I put the CAI on he was at my rear bumper. Stock my car in the 1/8th it ran an 11.32 with the CAI it ran a 10.30 let me know if you felt a difference.

xXManwhoreXx 09-05-2013 05:38 PM

Lol wut?

S8track16 09-05-2013 05:50 PM

My car just got louder.

03Sleepr 09-05-2013 06:14 PM

Yea brah I went from 13.80 in the 1/8th to 7.23 when I put on my cai best mod evar dude eff turbo.

So your stock ga beat a gtp by a full length?

sleepyalero 09-05-2013 06:18 PM

Why do you do this to yourself 3800...

tw0123 09-05-2013 07:15 PM

Maybe he thought this site was nicer than gagt!!!

sleepyalero 09-05-2013 07:49 PM

Lol. Intake wont do much for you, even with no supporting mods for more air. I highly doubt your cai made your car run a full second faster.

If that were possible that would be everyones very first mod for power. Even though it basically already is but not because it will "knock a second" off your drag times.

Redog 09-05-2013 07:53 PM

So, with only a CAI, you went from a 11.32 to a 10.30 in the 1/8.

The 1/4 mile conversion of that is you went from a 17.63 to a 16.07, dropping 1.56 seconds off your time, with just a CAI.

Haven't heard that kind of ricer wit around here in a long time :rolleyes2:

sleepyalero 09-05-2013 08:13 PM

You should see his non sense on gagt....

This site is whole lot better than GAGT

sleepyalero 09-05-2013 08:43 PM

Your just going to make it where people wont take you seriously here as well as you did on gagt.

yup The YouTube video is not the one on those time slips but I surely beat him http://youtu.be/mzdjUNb2N1g

The Last pic is all of my time slips

Redog 09-05-2013 09:42 PM

You "beat" the Grand Prix because he didn't know how to drive. Was he waiting for the green light of the two cars behind you

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 09:42 PM

Sorry cai alone won't do that good and he was catching you at the end

He was catching up with me in the end but this isn't the same GTP that I raced it was a different one could've swore I said that. There's a White GTP that has a 3.4 pulley setup that I raced I didn't have the video camera that night. http://youtu.be/fZoratqlfw4 Here's the gtp

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 10:07 PM

Ok but still I've been around cars my whole life and have yet to see a cold air setup pick up a whole second on a stock car

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 10:15 PM

You posted beating someone taking a nap at the track how does that prove anything

You must have looked past time slips that's what it's all about. Look at the time slips it shows perfect proof that. The CAI did help If that's not enough proof I don't know what is.

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 10:24 PM

Sorry still smells fishier then a Vegas hooker

Very nice, you will do well here. :)

As for 3800, no one is going to believe you, no matter what you say.

I still dont believe you. Dont believe anything you really say, its all just non sense. I feel like you put all this on yourself to have people not like you/believe your sayings.

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 10:40 PM

Thank you glad to see I fit in lol

Redog 09-05-2013 10:47 PM

The best I've seen a CAI gain was .5 seconds in the 1/4

And you post a vid of a glorified street race where neither one of you knew what you were doing, and it shows in r/t, style, launch, etc.

For the sake of argument, let's just say you did pick up 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 from a CAI. The CAI wasn't the only factor. What about other mods, car weight the day of, weather conditions the day of, air pressure, humidity, temp, time of day (you can see this was at dusk, when it's starting to get cooler)

My car, with the SAME mods, has run 14.82 one day and 16.1 another, all based on current conditions.

You CAI did not gain you that much, it was a combo of your CAI and excellent conditions on that day.

This is 10 years of racing experience talking here. I know what I'm talking about. Do I know everything? Absolutely not. Does Mitch (Daytona on here) know everything with 25 years of racing experience behind him, absolutely not, but we both know more than you.

Congrats on your good track day and winning your "street" race :awesome:

EDIT** You may have slips, but the vid does not show the scoreboard. Isn't that the most important part of taping a drag race?

Ecotecalero02 09-05-2013 10:50 PM

Thank you you explained it way better they i could have I'm not really a racer I just build 'em

They do not have a score board at that race track they only have a light at the end of the track that lets you know who wins time slips are accurate :P
And I never street race it was at the track street racing is stupid that's how people get tickets.

The Video's links where uploaded to U-tube in 2010.......... this thread seems pointless. Have u been thinking about your CAI for 3 years 3800 ?

sleepyalero 09-06-2013 04:47 AM

Good catch.

jackal2000 09-06-2013 07:52 AM

On the slow run it says FOUL? You red light bro? That will throw off a time for sure.
