Vtolds 02-23-2005 10:14 PM

I can vouch for that. And to think your Alero is about 3000 LBS avg. vs 4800 LBs for a 99/04 2nd gen and about 4600 LBS for the 93/95 1st gens.

SilverBullet256 02-24-2005 11:28 PM

thats only with minor mods, if you had a full cat back, a cai, ported manifolds, ported tb, dhp pcm, headers, heads, forged internals like pistons and rods, and a secret ** kit in the making, you can easily push way over 300 whp, which would let you kill a lightning

Oldsman 02-24-2005 11:32 PM

i can beat Silent...................LOL

SilverBullet256 02-24-2005 11:34 PM

when im done with my engine by the end of summer, the only one who can beat me is john, but of course he is gonna help me out along the way too

Redog 02-25-2005 09:30 AM

2000 Mustang V6
tons of Civics
1986 Trans am
1985 Buick Regal V8
2001 Acura RSX ( Gave him a head start, I beat him and broke out <_< )
2002 Alitma
2000 Maxima

But it depends a lot on the driver too. I lost to a NEON STR-4 by only 1/2 a car lenght, because the guy couldn't drive it. R/T palys a big roll too.

There is more to drag racing than being fast. Daytona is a really good driver and wins a ton of races with his 17 second Daytona, even against a 12 second Mustang

very true, if you are talking about bracket racing than you can beat a lot of things

bracket racing-

probe gt
civic
turbo civic
eclipse
turbo eclipse
12 sec. mustang
13 neon (not an srt4)
supercharged alero  no it wasn't mike (sc/alero), it was another guy in denver, doens't come on the boards very often

Vtolds 02-25-2005 10:24 AM

Come on guys bracket racing doesnt count, I think he wants to now what you can beat in a heads up race.

what the hell do you mean bracket racing doesn't count, it takes a lot of skill and a little bit of luck here and there to be a good bracket racer, where is daytona when you need him, he'll back me up.....

hmm...that makes..um...about all of us...lmao..sorry silent. In all seriousness though, i've beaten; A Couple civics, a late model contour, an avenger, 95 grand am, and so on. I have lost a couple times to a heavily modded civic when i just got my car(no mods). Its all on the driver though. You can put identical cars next to each other and the better driver will find a way to win...its that simple.

I have no doubt it takes alot of skill. But I could say I beat a Top fuel Dragster in a bracket race but in a heads up race it would kill every car in the world.

flalero 02-27-2005 12:41 AM

Let me see, where to begin? All these races are of the legal variety of course!
-Every model of Honda out there, besides the S2000, both stock and not
-Integras, RSX's, various other older model Acuras.
-Other Aleros, Grand AM GT/SE, V6 Camaros/Firebirds, one older 80 something Z28 and Firebird (bone stock with Auto Tranny)
-Stock 5.0 Stangs (also with slushboxes), V6 Stangs, Probe SE/GT, Focus (I've raced an SVT Focus and it was dead even race, didn't beat him though), Tempo, Taurus, Topaz,
-Sentras (all years, including the SE-R spec V, however I raced an older style SE-R with SR20DET conversion and got my butt handed to me), N/A 300ZX, Altima, Older Maxima,
-N/A 3000GT, Eclipse, Talon

God, the list could go on. I race something almost every day, and don't keep track of my wins or losses to well.

Sundayalero 02-28-2005 11:21 AM

Once I beat my little sister in a race..... She was on a mountain bike tho' ;)

Oldz Alero 02-28-2005 11:54 AM

I have beat a 1992 Probe Gt with a stick and a 1998 Camaro V-6 with a stick. Those are the only 2 cars i have raced.

OK but what about R/T

I beat a modified Civic

I ran 15.41 he ran a 15.32. My R/T was .051 and his was .128

There is a stock Mustang GT convertible at the track every week that runs 15.15, but if he has a poop light, I could beat him too

Oldsman 02-28-2005 12:55 PM

i've beat quite a few GAGT because of reaction time. even a few that were modified and e/t wise i was .3-.4 slower than them.

when it comes to who you can beat r/t is a big factor. far as bracket racing, it's like handicap in bowling. you are racing another car and driver but it is setup to were the first to cross the traps without breaking out wins. but there are so many more variables in it than heads up. because the main objective is to be consistant and be able to dial in perfect. rather than try to beat the other guy. because if you are consistant and so is your car you will do very well.

BAD Marauder 02-28-2005 07:40 PM

Another thing is your 60' foot times are a big factor in your 1/8th times and less in the 1/4th times but still important but not as crucial in the 1/4th races.
