pcm tune and heades
does any body know where to get headers and the pcm tuned at for 3400.also was wondering what people think is worm air intake better or cold air.i just orderd a fuel pressure adjuster ror my car what should i put it at thanks alot
|
if you mean fuel pressure regulator, you really wasted your money you don't need it, and also if you are installing the headers to go fast, like one of your old threads states, the first thing to need to do is get rid of those big ass heavy hoopty rims. Cold air intake would be better but the difference is really marginal on a stock alero. Also nobody currently makes headers for the alero. You can buy some leftover kits from a member here (look in the bazarr) and weld them yourself. Or you can wait for WOT-TECH to make theirs. You can also hope for a used set to pop up.
Thanks, Kyle |
i took them off.what abut where to get tuned pcm.
|
Hp tuners is the software that is widely used to tune our cars. I don't think WOT-TECH does off the shelf tunes. I also cannot think of another business that I would reccoment that does them. Your option would be to buy the software and tune it yourself. It really is not that hard. The forum that goes with the software is a vast of information for learning.
Thanks, Kyle |
Where exactly are you located? I know a couple places that will do a tune depending on the location.

lotta #'s in ur username

^ off topic?? lmao
I got my pcm at mpracing.org |
i live in rockford ill..i got a web site that will do it for a 100 its zzperformance.com .its for a grand am put there like the same they got some good stuff on there
|
You can ask them about a pcm but not sure about that.... Ya the engines are the same but the pcm could be different.
|
Sites like ZZ are good for a genreic tune but if you want to do something custom, you'll have to buy HP tuners and do it yourself.
Since you want to "GO FAST" I'm willing to bet that genreic is best for you, at least right now |

zzp tunes suck, or atleast they did on the 3800 and that's their main focus. I don't recommend them for a tune at all. Find someone in your area with HPT who has experience with Grand Ams and see what he can do... IIRC it's $100 to unlock your car if he doesn't have your year alero unlocked already. |
MPRacing.org has pcm's but I would never recommend them. I had a horrible experience...

I know it would be a bit of a drive, but Speed Inc in Schaumburg should be able to tune it good for ya. Just don't expect it to be cheap. |
Speed Inc. won't touch the car. All they want to do is V8s.....

Care to eleborate? |
I can tune but need more vehicles to gain experience with. Anyone near warsaw indiana that is willing to let me use their car for testing, let me know. I have a start based on a the GAGT.

Well, that sucks... I've only heard about them from someone else. Then Finish Line Performance in Naperville might do it. I know they do stuff that isn't just V8s. |

They're gonna be shit outta luck eventually.. Even trucks are getting V6s/4cyls without a v8 option now days! |
I think Randy (rowdygls) had his custom-tuned on the dyno at Done-Rite Automotive in WI (near where he lives). He said they did good work, but I think he paid a small fortune too (he's got a supercharger, so....).
The mopes at Speed Inc. are just being lazy. They are an HPTuners shop (in addition to LS1Edit and maybe another tuning suite or two), but they don't want to learn anything new. |

Yeah, Done-Rite will tune anything you have but I have noticed their prices are higher for some things but spot on for others compared to some other shops other users have used. The small fortune to have it done right is fine by me as long as they know what they are doing. As I get bored with my current tune levels and get some money to put towards the car, they will see it again... |
