Ok so I just ordered the AAS kit for my alero, and now its time to think about the engine. I was looking through all the old threads and I found a lot of answers, but I'm still looking for a few more.
I have a WAI picked out, as well as headers exhaust manifold, Cat and exhaust. I plan to re-do all the seals and change all the fluids/filters. I'm trying to figure out what else to do to a N/A 2.4L to pull out some more power, I really just want a little more go to add to the show its going to have, any sugestions for a good N/A mod would be greatly appreciated.

N/A is for those satisfied with not enough.. boost is the way to go with an I4. Boooost it.

Here's some additional stuff that will also greatly compliment boost when you decide to do it:
- 62mm throttle body
- 2.3L camshafts
- ported and polished head

Also, depending on your mileage/condition of engine, spray a wet Nitrous Express 50 shot.

the only reason for N/A is cause I don't see that kinda money being available to me in the near future, seeing as I have a 10 month old daughter and am about to be relocated by the government.

I didn't know the site was even remotly done, guess I need to read more. its looking good so far ion.

it isn't remotely done lol

but any mod to add a good kick is going to cost a bit of money.

supercharger kit (50+ HP): $1579 shipped
62mm throttle body (8-10 HP): $100-150 used off j-body
2.3L secret camshafts (10-15 HP): $100 eBay all day
P&P head (20 HP? Not sure, depends on other mods): $lots of money

Def the 2.3 HO cams that Ion mentioned. That's a really good upgrade.

I would stay away from the 2.3 manifold however. I heard it flows less than the 2.4 mani

yep dyno proven 2.3L High Output intake manifold worse than stock, until you turbocharge with it

Okay dont get the 2.3 cams confused...the secret cams are from the LO Quad and the 2.3 HO cams are from the HO Quad...better lift with these but more mods need to be done to acquire the power.

Best way that I see to build a N/A beast 2.4L is introduce it to its past designs---->The Quad 4....which include oil pump swap....cam swap...and even head swap....etc.
