Latest Shoot

Passed over 189,000 miles today.

Decided to take some shots. My roomate's camera doesn't do so well in low-lit conditions. I took some shots at EATON, lol. Drove all over their grass; luckily no one was there. A cop rolled by and was like o_O.

Lots of upgrades coming very soon in various aspects of the car... engine dress up, engine, header, injectors, interior trim, seats, harnesses, 13 second slips.. etc.

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 08:55 PM

Ya, I'm having my friend who's the pro photographer take some real shots this week sometime lol, just felt like seeing what I could get in poor lighting with a poor camera.

Nate's Alero 10-12-2008 09:05 PM

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 09:14 PM

stock lol, eibach before ASS

Nate's Alero 10-12-2008 09:17 PM

dude, why are you almost overheating??

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 09:20 PM

lots of go-stop driving, i took a ton of pics at different locations

and that's not "almost overheating" that's just above normal operating temp, that's like 220 degrees. normal temp is around 200.

not like he needs half his bumper in the snow behind him

YALEROYNOT 10-12-2008 09:38 PM

looks great but......

you need some fancy exhaust tips that follow the curve of the kit. what size are the tail pipes ? I have an idea ;) hmmmm I have a welder some SS tube, sheet metal and the ASS kit you might find some tips on your door step some day. ;) I will see what I can do

you are running 18 psi of boost at idle ?

love those wheels

I would like to see the tail lights tinted a little, some BIG calipers on that sucker. well done tho very nice

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 09:47 PM

haha yes 18 PSI of boost at idle.. 18 inches of mercury vacuum, or -9 PSI.

The exhaust tips I was looking at getting are 2.5" in, 3.5" out dual tips, but they're $108.

TheEdgeofSanity 10-12-2008 09:50 PM

looking pretty sweet! your alero proves that cars past 150,000 miles don't have to be junkers

same...mine's regular operating temp is right above the first notch above "c" and when it's "hot" it is on or a little below the half-mark

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 10:10 PM

weird lol, in the various tables of HPTuners I think it's like 180-220 is the ideal operating temp for optimal performance

TheEdgeofSanity 10-12-2008 10:13 PM

i can't wait until i finally have time to meet up with you and see your car and check out that HP Tuners of yours.

also, when you were at that BBQ (the one where that guy took ur car's action pictures) about a month ago, u rememeber seeing an enormous, white 1980's buick?

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 10:15 PM

lol nope, was there a white 1980s buick at the BBQ?

and ya dood lemme know, i work tues/thurs/fri and get out at 430 and i'm like 10 mins from you there

kwhauck 10-12-2008 10:16 PM

you guys also don't have a HEATON supercharger.......they suck at producing heat, and make temps go way up, that is why i had an intercooler and always some kind of hood scoop..........ion you really need to look for an aftermarket hood or scoops, just something to let some heat out........

you don't realize how much of a difference it makes until you do, and i will never run boost again without it.......

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 10:19 PM

I just ordered some meth.. I've considered doing a custom Supra "heat-extractor" style hood but meh..

Picture on Supra:

might wanna check that out, normal is about one needle with above the half mark. your engine must never warm up in the winter if that what is does in the summer

[ion] C2 10-12-2008 10:21 PM

and about HEATON superchargers, my IATs go up 40 degrees with 6 seconds of WOT, LOL.

Meth is much needed.

You got tranny & earl coolers already? 160 degree stat?

kwhauck 10-12-2008 10:31 PM

screw meth, you need permanent intercoolering, i could help you piece one together for probably 500-700 or less.......

kwhauck 10-12-2008 10:33 PM

oh and i like that hood, always have, i am still deciding, i have a cowl CF, but i also still have the OEM cf that i have been toying around with still for a 2000 cobra r scoop.......

that's got nothing to do with IATs; my trans temps are excellent, my coolant temps always stay within safe limits. all stock stuff.

I dunno how, I parked pretty much away from everyone else and it was pouring down rain so everyone stood around in the pavilion or watched cars fail at "drifting."

DOHC_tuner 10-12-2008 11:03 PM

Looks good, just needs a suspension alteration BAD. Get the GA mirrors too.

Justin081 10-13-2008 12:00 AM

looks awesome!!! i wish my Alero looked that good ...

Mori01 10-13-2008 12:30 AM

Good lord chris, I love your car dude..im sure its been answered before, but what kit you got on it? is it the AAS?

Click my sig or that link for all current mods, ones being installed, and future.

-Alero- 10-13-2008 01:01 AM

that thing hammered could probably land a magazine shoot, but monster truck suspension is what you like :P

[ion] C2 10-13-2008 01:05 AM

i may go have eibach's put on... i fear for the winter though.. trudging through deep, hardened snow and ice pushing against the front of the kit and pulling off the rear isn't that great

it'll definitely be lowered before ASS, then i'd have time to get a deep snow car before next winter
