I read the whole thing, and it doesn't show that specific tire size, All I was able to find was and 8" wide rim should have 235 to 245.. my rim specs are 18x7.5 i just pretty much want these tires as a spare set, my buddy is gonna give them to me for 100 bucks, so i figure if they are that cheap, i'll just buy them incase.

but 245 could cause rubbing with some rim offsets so be careful

Speedo will also read 3.5% too slow. So speedo reading 60 your actually going 62.1

AleroBloke 04-25-2005 01:57 AM

Ahh..Ok, I am not familiar with the breakdown of the numbers, so I guess thats wher ei need the help..

Naich 04-25-2005 08:22 AM

It depends on how high the offset is. It would be a guessing game.

^^ or drive by a cop and have him tell you.

AleroBloke 04-26-2005 04:35 PM

+45 MM offset. Rubbing would be the main problem right? So these 245 40 18s would be bad to buy?

Naich 04-26-2005 04:42 PM

I wouldn't know for sure... I have +40 offset and 235/50/17 tires, and there is barely any room at all between the tire and the spring seat. Here is my old rims and tires... 235/40/18 on a +40 offset, and look how close it is.

AleroBloke 04-27-2005 03:06 AM

Wow, that is close, I don't wanna risk it. BTW Nice tri's Nick. Mine don't look that nice. haha..

PowderBlue85 04-27-2005 03:30 PM

so if im reading this correctly...... an 18x8 rim with a 40+offset will fit when mounted with say 235/40/18 tires? and not rub?

Oldsmopimp 04-27-2005 06:48 PM

^^^ ya, thats what I have. and they dont rub. Im not POSITIVE on the +40tho....Naich would know...its the eagle 077's

Redog 04-27-2005 07:40 PM

In most cases you plus size every number but the max recommemed width is 225

It shouldn't rub. I imagine that the shape of the tire could change that... but I had sumitomo HTR+ 235/40/18 on Eagle 077's, which are 8" wide.
