hey all,
i'm aware that these wont fit in the rear deck without having to "cut a bigger hole." i haven't looked at the rear deck yet but when you say cut a bigger hole, does that mean, make the hole in the metal larger? what would i have to cut through to make it bigger? and what's the recommended tool for it? thanks |
you do have to cut a bigger hole...i didnt realy cut anything, i just took a vice grip and bent it back slowly, i couldnt find anything to cut it with at the time

If your still going to cut, use a dremel tool

For all of you that have these 6x9s, how is the bass compared to the stock speakers? I have a Kenwood HU that pushes at peak 50x4 watts. Is it possible to hook up an amp to just these two speakers and not the front ones. Also how would you think it would sound if I did not replace the speakers up front.

yes you can amp the rears only, just buy a 2 chael amp rather than a 4 chanel and hopefully your deck has rear rca pre puts, if not you'll need a line out converter... but it prolly has rca out's(or get an amp with high pass in's)
With the rears being amped you'll have more rear fill, and will be able to tune the rear stage better, refrence the fronts it will sound "ok" however i would recomend getting betterspeaks ASAP |
