All right, the stock bumper has a slight depression/cutout to make some "space" for the outlet. To those of you who've got the SLP or other exhaust with dual outlets, what did you all do on the passenger side? I remember on the old aleromod there was a thread about silent just hanging the passenger side a little bit lower. Has anyone cut the bumper to make it symmetrical?

I'm just asking because I've noticed that the cutout is pretty obvious when you're behind red or white Aleros and I'm not sure how clean it would look to have the exhaust symmetrical but not the contour of the bumper above it. My car is black, so the shadows and what not wouldn't be as noticeable anyway...

Let me know what y'all have done.

buy razzi ground effects and that will not be a problem. i finally got it but didnt install yet so here's what mine looks like

I had my bumper cut out to allow for the second set of tips. It cost me about $450 but it was worth it. The guy did a really good job on it, it looks stock! I've even had the dealership say it looks good, and you know how rare something like that is. :D

Plus getting the cut is the right thing to do, if you don't, overtime the bumper WILL melt

hey redog, that does look nice with the other cut out. but 450.. damn, that is more then half the body kit with dual exhaust cut outs. and you say the bumper will melt over time but it looks to me like your exhaust tips are a lot closer to the bumper then mine are, so i dont think the melting bumper is an issue. and no one has had that problem yet

my pics are too big to post on here but check my pics at cardomainn in my sig, my rides black and i have dual exhaust and have not had any problems with melting or anything...and you cant tell its been cut out and it didnt cost $450 like reddog, it was done for free when the exhaust was put on

Redog 12-09-2003 10:47 PM

I had this done a long time ago, before it was really popular. That's probably why is cost so much

99blackalero 12-09-2003 11:05 PM

i think the guy just ripped you off bit looks good regardless

Redog 12-10-2003 08:38 AM

It was done at a bodyshop, most of the $450 was probably labor and panit. I'm not trying to think about the $$$ I've spent already, looking forward to the $$$ I'm going to spend

reddog, it looks good....i want to go get a custom exhaust with cut outs kinda similar to yours.

Purple&Black 12-10-2003 12:09 PM

Hey, all of those look good...

You guys that said that you had it done when you had the exhaust put on...did you have that done at a muffler place? I wouldn't have thought that 's something that they'd do, so I'm guessing you had it done somewhere else...

I know redog had his done at a bodyshop, but what you 99BlackAlero?
