Dynolicious
So there's this new app for the iPod Touch and iPhone called Dynolicious, which has skidpad recording information as well as full quarter mile and 0-60MPH and such based of the internal accelerometer readings. I figured I'd give it a shot using my friend's iPod Touch.
14.2 sec quarter mile with a 3.0 sec 60' LOL I spun terribly (I did a 2.2 60' at the track last year). Seems pretty accurate, it's supposed to be within 0.1 sec accuracy. Can't wait for the new engine to be built and put in, along with some meth and tuning... mmm... |
Man, that sounds pretty cool. I WANT A TOUCH SOO BAD!
|
lol I have a touch and love the new apps... Phone Saber FTW!
|
i'll probably have one by the end of the year... that app sounds pretty badass!

I think everyone knows you have an ipod touch. Lol. I really can justify spending the money on one. I would love a 16 or 32 gb, but for $400-500... I think i will pass for now.;) |
Nice. I actually just got an iPod Touch. Where would I find this program?
|
You need Itunes 7.7 and the firmware 2.0 update on your ipod touch. This will install the app store. Then just do a search for the app. I don't have any use for it so I won't buy it, but it sounds cool.
|
Dude yeah you do. When you drive it can monitor your G forces when you turn and accelerate and brake, you can check out what your peak g-forces are. It's awesome, lol. And you can find out how slow you are.
|
spend hundreds of dollars for a new phone and contract.. or go find a track somewhere to get my 1/4 mile time..
my phone -is- a bit out-dated... |
any place to get apps like these.... w/o paying for them?
|
yeah.... you can risk bricking your iphone/Ipod Touch and jailbreak it.... Basically, it just unlocks the device and installs an installer that houses free third party apps. Although Apple's new updates prevent a lot of that from happening.
|
so what your telling me is, if i get an itouch, i'll have to be a non-pirate and actually PAY for apps... lame. (wouldn't want to brick something that expensive)
about how much do they cost? |
the hell is the difference between the iPhone and the iPod Touch?
according to their website.. prices start at $199 for the iPhone.. my contract with Cellular One is about up anyways.. might have to grab one of these when I renew :p |
I got the 16 GB touch for $400... The update is only $10, but I believe if you order it online, it comes with the update pre-installed and won't cost you the extra $10... They do have some good apps that are free. Most of them are within a $1-10 range. There are some that are more, but those are the REALLY good ones. Dynolicious is like $12.50 ish, but obviously is worth it. Most of that money goes towards the developers and not Apple. So those developers would hopefully use that money to make updates on their apps and such. Most of my apps are free and are really neat. I've only bought 3 apps.

^^ thank you fer that little tid bit..
Might get an iPhone then.. already got an iPod and need to update my RAZR phone.. starting to get old.. it has been one dependable little piece of technology though- its been to hell and back. |
I might go pick up a new iPhone tomorrow. They just FINALLY got them in stock since the intro day. $299 is a steal for the 16gb, especially since i sold my original 8gb for $325 2 months ago :scpimp:
|
Hmm...
Cost of keeping my old phone: $0 Cost of a tech ticket good for at least 3 passes down the 1/4-mile with accurate timing sensors: $40 Cost of gas to get to/from track: $20 TOTAL: $60 - Or - New iPhone Touch: $400 Dynolicious program that will never be 100% accurate: $12.50 TOTAL: $412.50 (+ tax) Hmm..... |
$12 is reasonable for those who already have it
|
