damn shame... but a totally rational reaction.

NOOOO i wanted to see my alero live again haha maybe some day i hope
Well it turns out your going to see it live i found a good deal on a fully built engine on the j-body so i think i might end up keeping it.
nice does this mean u are still going to ASS
Well im bringing this back and updating it im going to keep the car for now i just ordered http://mpracing.org/store/index.php?...&productId=369 and there 2 stbs ill update this with pics of the install when the parts get here.
Another small update i got my GR2s in today prob going to install them tomorrow or monday
hmmm nice.. make an install thread so I know how to:P
fk yeah!!
Keep it rolling and build that beast. |
Small update finally got the MPR 12" Front Big Brake Kit all i can say is wow these things are HUGE. Heres some pics right out of the box ill make sure to take some pics next to the stock ones so you guys can see how big they really are.
Well heres the kit next to stock.
Top=MPR big brake kit Bottom=Stock and they fit under the stock 16inch rims. |
brake caliper is effing huge lol
Well a small update finally got around to installing all my gauges. Its all kinda missed matched cause im in the process of switching over from glowshift to cyberdyne because cyberdyne gauges can be programmed to flash at a set value.
and i also got around to fixing my dam coolant leak and found out what was causing it. Top is an 11 year old 200,xxx mile water neck and the bottom one is brand new as you can see the top one was completely corroded the plastic was soft and falling apart. |
Small update got the car up and running again had a huge fight with the brakes to get them working i ended up having to replace the back calibers and rotors cause they were all rusted and wouldnt work any more.I also got a better job now and have some extra money coming in so im going to start working on the car again.Heres a pic of the room i have with 16 inch rims
Nice. 5.7 or 6.0?
And why didnt you get a stick?? Also... welcome back |
Its the 5.7l the main reason for getting an auto is I'm a truck driver and I drive stick 10hrs a day so I'm sick of it. The other reason was it was such a good deal I got it for 15.5k with only 23k on it and it looks brand new cause the guy who had it before barely drove it
Hey thats a good reason to not get a stick haha.
I miss my old gto, that's looking good. sap gill and spoiler are awesome.
Ya I love the thing. As soon as its all paid off I'm going to start modding the thing but until then I figured the alero will keep me busy.
We need more aleros
Help me find one then Sleepy!! I want a 5 speed Eco. Lol jk jk
But nice GTO Caboose! I've always wanted one... hell I want the seats to retrofit em in my Cutlass Supreme and Camaro. Can't wait to see the pics of the Alero. |

If you are truly interested in a 5 speed eco, then I can send you a link if one turns up in your area before too long, it has been two weeks since i went through every craigslist page in the continental us, prolly about time to do it again |
The idea is there, I'm serious, but I'm also broke and working odd jobs to pay bills off. Financially, I'm not ready... BUT I am willing to wait, because I want an Eco with less than 100K. 120K max, but no more. Hard to find yes? Possible? Of course?
So to conclude, I do want it, but this may be a January 2015 type thing.... unless a deal comes out of nowhere, then I'll get a personal loan or something. I'm willing to travel btw, but I'm thinking along the lines of between NY and SC. How do you find these links nationwide though? It seems like a real hassle to go through each area on CL. |
Welcome back to the site and nice looking GTO! :thumb:

Ya I can't wait to get back to modding the alero. I just bought a tig welder and its going to be at the house Friday then I can start leading how to weld which should make putting in this turbo a lot cheaper.
Well i finally got home from being on the road so heres the update. Heres [IMG][/IMG] the poor girl shes been sitting and hasnt been started in atleast 2 years. Heres the dirty engine bay [IMG][/IMG]
And finally the good stuff a car full of all sorts of goodies [IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] and to top it all off a gt35R i got used from somebody over on j-body a few years ago sitting on top of the cheap log manifold you can find on ebay [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] This is the Down pipe i just ordered ill post a real pic when it gets here next week to start the exhaust and to help me finish it a new mig welder i just picked up [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] And heres a pic of the new 2014 Kenworth super sleeper we just bought and i pick of are old trusty 05 Frieghtliner Columbia thats got almost a million mile on her [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] And to top it all off my new poly motor mounts came in for the gto :awesome: [IMG][/IMG] |

Ya im sure theres some in there  but i have the next 2 weeks off so im going to fully strip everything out and give it a good wash and try to get it running again just to see were my starting points going to be. |
Small update
Good luck fitting that downpipe with the 4-bolt to v-band adapter in the engine bay.
Also whyyyyy is your head and Cometic gasket sitting there like that, prone to being scratched up or otherwise damaged and get debris in the layers of the gasket? Aghhh.. When you install, remember this:
Ya my bad on the head i didnt think of small scratches laying it down like that and how much clearance do i need on the hot side the adapter is 3inch wide and i got the low profile 90 on the down pipe hoping it would be enough
It is tight, that's all I know. My downpipe does this and it's quite snug.
Hmm ya that's probably not going to fit I guess I'll have to chop off the vband parts and just bolt it to the turbo and bend it in more
Update
Update i unpacked all the parts and laid them out on a nice soft padded surface instead of a debris covered floor like IonC2 pointed out to me :awesome: . I also cut out the exhaust and got the manifold off now the fun part of mocking up all the turbo stuff before the engine comes out :yahoo: :yahoo:. I also forgot a few goodies i picked up awhile ago like the team green lsd and a fpr adapter block
I also apparently have a guard turkey that watches over my gto now lol |
what's the FPR adapter for
If I remember correctly it let's you use the stock rail and the an aftermarket fpr but its been years sense I bought the thing so I could be mistaken I'll try to find the thread over on j-body about it later tonight.
stock FPR is sufficient, but if you want a pretty one it works i suppose
Of course i want a pretty one lol but on another note i ran into a slight issue got the manifold in and the turbo doesnt fit   i tried clocking the cold side and not matter what it bangs into the cam tower. So ive decided to have some fun and test my fab skills and mount the turbo in a different location now im just going threw ideas now so nobody be to harsh but i think im might stick it over on the passenger side like this
The last pic is how im thinking of routing the pipe i can fit 2 1/2 inch feeding the turbo and 3 inch dp to the rest of the exhaust and theirs enough clearance to rap up the pipes so i dont go melting a bunch of stuff |
