trans?

I swear these problems only happen to me. I start my car from a cold start and let it warm up. When i put into drive to go on my way to school, it didnt wanna leave first gear. I drove it around the block and then pulled over and put it in neutral than back into drive and it seems ok. I know im over due for a transmission flush big time, but is that related? Since it hasnt been done in who knows how long is the fluid starting to thicken up?

I'm on my second tranny in my Alero and when VERY cold (Below 10) when I drive away it will slip going into 2nd from 1st. Both trannys have done this

First tranny: 63,000 miles
Second tranny: 73,000 miles

You can try a fluid and filter exchange to see if it helps but sounds like the 1-2 solenoid may be your culprit. Pretty common problem once you get some miles on these.

normally mine has a delay shifting from first to second, i figured its because of i need a trans flush since it hasnt been done in years. but it didnt slip into 2nd, i just wouldnt leave 1st gear

Could be this. Sadly the cheapest fix is a new tranny. Ford transmissions, swapping a solenoid is like a 2 hour job for a DIY guy

Without knowing the mileage, etc i can only assume that you are overdue or just plain low.

112,xxx mi.

I do think it could be old transmission fluid, so just go ahead and eliminate that as a possibility.
