The Flowmaster is starting to feel it's age and rot. Time for a new 1 in 2 out. Not looking for a whole 3400 cat-back just a good sounding muffler, nothing ricey. What's the concensus for a similar muffler but a bit more "toned down" than the 80 series Flow.

Also, anybody with duals and the Razzi rear have the cut out measurements? Center-to-center plus actual opening width would be helpful. Even more helpful if you want to sell it to me :beerchug:

SweetNLow 04-11-2006 12:06 AM

u guys nuts? he said he wants a more TONED DOWN muffler from the 80 not a louder one.

u guys obvioulsy havent heard the 2 to be able to compare them.

embe.......... 40 series flowmaster is not as loud and doesnt drown as much as the 80.

ive heard a magnaflow muffler befor and that sounded pretty good to.... again not quite as loud as teh 80.

slp is about the loudest non coffee can muffler u can put on your car though

derek_ski99 04-11-2006 01:59 PM

i dunno sweet...i heard nick's slp and i think my magnaflow is louder.

14alero 04-11-2006 02:16 PM

Hey Sweet a 40 series is louder then a 80s serious if you want quiet just buy a Turbo Muffler

SweetNLow 04-11-2006 02:19 PM

40's are not louder than 80's....... i have a 40 and joel has an 80 and his car is way louder espically when driving.

i think slp and magnaflow are about on par. but slp has a rather "ricey" sound to it imo

its funny how you support SLP as being the only decent muffler or exhaust setup to have on our cars because thats what you have.

ya slp has a much raspier sound. similar to that as a coffee can muffler.

it would make sense that u have the slp though..... then u have that ricey sound with your ricey carbon fiber vinyle covered mirrors ;)

14alero 04-11-2006 05:10 PM

Learn how to spell Vinyl not vinyle I dont have slp on my car i have a 40 Series flowmaster soon to change to SLp

my 4-banger sounds like that at idle, but sounds ricetastic when I rev it. why don't you rev it so we can judge you better. lol

embe 04-11-2006 08:52 PM

Back when I installed my exhaust there wasn't much out there on Alero's to compare it to, so I took a chance with the Flowmaster. I can't even remember if Molson had his exhaust at the Windsor meet back then. :alcoholic: I know SLP has a reputation for being Raspy and last I heard they were only available in a cat-back. I'm looking just for a replacement muffler, transverse, single in-dual out. Exhaust has a noticeable difference in sound between the 4 bangers and the 3400. Even a link to a good thread would help.

You could use these guys www.jonesexhaust.com Ive heard alot of good stuff about them

that doesnt sould like rice but that dude has his heads done along with prolly a cam and alot of other stuff and its a 3800......... so u cant compare that to the way the slp sounds on a stock 3400

sound_xtreme 04-11-2006 10:42 PM

a single 40 series is probably louder than an 80, but dual 40s is def quieter.

Oldsman 04-11-2006 11:09 PM

could always do the GA borla cat back. it sounds good. not loud and raspy
