ugh...another failure(12 volt Plug dont work)

so now i went to use my GPS when i was lost only to find out both of the 12VOLT adapters in my car dont work. i tried for about 5 minutes trying to get my GPS to charge up and no power. after cursing my car, i had to go to a gas station in the middle of no where and ask them how to get to an off ramp about 10 miles away...it was embarrassing and awkward. im about ready to kick my car off a cliff between this, the brake failure, and the cruse control failure

ok, now that im done venting, how do i fix this?

#34 mini fuse underhood fuse box. Check that over to see if that's causing the issue!

thank you so much, yes, pulled the fuse, fuse blew, got to run to walmart and get a mini 20A

I had the same problem except I lost multiple fuses to a cigarette lighter that was probably cursed by a gypsy or something because every now and then it would just arbitrarily blow the fuse. It too me far too long to pinpoint the problem.

i bought 120 mini set and 120 regular set fuses.

This is why you always keep a good old trusty paper map in your car. Just in case lol. :) I had a similar problem back when I had my Intrigue. The guy who owned it before me had wired up some aftermarket fog lights and every once in a while when you would flip the kill switch for it, the car would blow a fuse and completely shut-off.

Had it happen going 55 on the highway once and the steering wheel locked up when it happened. Thankfully I was able to still pull off the highway safely and swap it out with a new one. I just drove around with extra fuses in my car all the time so I was always ready. Weird thing though is when I swapped those fog lights out for new ones, I never had that issue again.

when i get the fuse kits, im replacing all of the fuses, every fuse will be brand new(except the jumbo ones) hoping that might bring my cruse control back.

Those 12V outlets seem to frequently blow fuses because they way the socket is designed, it's actually pretty easy to short it out.

Don't blame ya there and here's hoping that it helps. I drove a car once that didn't have cruise control. It belonged to a friend of mine and he needed a ride to the airport. So I drove his car there and back. After that it made me realize that I never want to own a newer model car that doesn't have it lol. At least not one I'm going to drive daily.

cruise control failure was caused by two 2A fuses in the passenger side fuse box

Glad to hear that you got it fixed and have cruise control back!
