new tires heavier

getting new tires. they are 4 pounds heavier each tire. does that affect hp or pickup?

alerored04 01-25-2009 02:49 PM

Technically yes but you won't notice it.

irondiezl3 01-25-2009 02:53 PM

how the hell do smaller tires weigh more? just depends on construction and material i suppose?

4 pounds per tire is a lot.

I would notice it. That's why I got Sumitomo tires. :)

MixtapeMessiah 01-25-2009 03:26 PM

what kinda tires are they and what size

irondiezl3 01-25-2009 03:41 PM

now before u judge the brand name read the reviews i want them the reviews r completely insane plus i love the brand ive had them before but ok here goes, right now i have goodyear integrity which r amazing tires but the dealer when i bought it in feb last year put the wrong size on they are too big. so right now is a great time for me to get new tires and my friend needs the size i have now anyway so im selling them to my friend and getting new ones heres what im getting these are 4 pounds heavier each crazy to me,

By far the best all season tire u can get bro

irondiezl3 01-25-2009 05:19 PM

those r even heavier lol and alot more expensive look at all the people who have those generals what they say

MixtapeMessiah 01-25-2009 05:53 PM

and look at all the people who rank the bridgestones higher, they arent heavy at all, I put them on infinitis all the time because people dont wanna pay the money for good years. If u truely want a good tire bridgestone is the way to go bro...15 bucks more a tire aint bad at all considering ur getting 15's...

irondiezl3 01-25-2009 08:00 PM

o i didnt know you have personally used them before on cars. what do you like about them so much?

MixtapeMessiah 01-25-2009 08:31 PM

I work for Infiniti bro and mostly they all come with good years, but ur lucky to get 25k miles out of them, good tire dont get me wrong but the bridgestone potenzas I showed u are cheaper then the good years and are just a good all round all reason tire. I have experience with generals and lets just say ur gonna have tons of tire noise coming from them. Remember cheaper doesnt always mean better, u get what u pay for. Go with bridgestones

Gr1m 01-25-2009 08:35 PM

it has a lot to do with rotating mass and physics

MixtapeMessiah 01-25-2009 08:40 PM

and plus ur worried about 4 extra pounds on a stock 15 inch rim? come on now bro. 215/60/15 weigh nothing, u can throw those hoes like frisbees 100 feet out...even if u had like 18's or dubs I still wouldnt worry inless ur rims way like 50 lbs...

tw0123 01-25-2009 10:19 PM

dont get the generals... i had them on a contour, yes i know p.o.s., but it was what i had to drive... anyways, the belts shifted in 3 of my 4 tires... within 20k... warranty was for 100k... and they only credited me for the 80k of the warranty that was left on the tires... total b.s. i now have the potenza's, they are good, and have lasted much longer than the goodyear's the car originally came with... good luck if you get the generals...

CactusWill 01-25-2009 10:30 PM

Altimax are the shit, hands down. I don't care if they are heavier or not, they've saved my life many times already.

irondiezl3 01-25-2009 10:33 PM

cactus u like them how do they do on treadlife? all the reviews are like what you are saying. every single one they have got to be good i heard they look sporty to. id love to hear what you think of them all together

Redog 01-25-2009 11:53 PM

General tires are made in Korea and are just garbage.

Be sure that the tires you buy are made here in the States. Tires made in Mexico are just like anything else made there. (Like the front tires on My Delta 205-75-14's and made in Mexico, they were louder than the rears and they were 235-60-14's and made here. Same tread too. )

MixtapeMessiah 01-26-2009 12:11 AM

potenza's FTW

irondiezl3 01-26-2009 12:11 AM

i want the quitest most comfy tire possible
