2000 - 2005 Impala Wing
Any ideas if this would fit with custom drilled holes? My only concern is that is may be too wide to fit on the trunk lid, otherwise I would very much like to give it a go.

It looks like the dimensions for holes on the grand am (can't find it for the Alero) is 38 3/4" from hole to hole while the Impala is 47 1/4" from hole to hole.
It doesn't seem like it would fit but I am going to run out and measure the trunk lid real quick. Edit: the trunk lid comes up just shy of 50" across so it should fit, any opinions? |
would be different

Do it. I think it would look pretty good.:coolio:
Hmmm I might try this...
I am hoping the local scrap yard has one on hand, it should make for a relatively inexpensive endeavor.
I think i may try this as well if it'll fit.
find a you pull yard... walk around, grab one off an impala, walk over to an alero, test fit... it if works, buy it and proceed :)
Here, you would have to remount it on the car ;)
might look like the razzi but without the importish shopping cart handle look. its still my favorite but that not being so tall might look better. give it shot!

That was my thought plus it should be much less expensive especially without the need to pay shipping. |

do this and post pictures. I have my eyes on a 5 speed sedan without anything on the trunk. I want to see this will look like! Razzi spoiler looks like its $200 |
I found a guy parting out his silver (an exact match on the color to my Alero) 02 Impala on Craigslist. He is only a 30 minute drive out so hopefully he gets back to me.
I would hit a pull yard but the nearest is about 60 miles away. Edit: Looks like it is from a salvage yard in the area, I will give them a call later. |
It's definitely a different look. Don't worry about the bolt holes though, you should be more concerned with the width of the spoiler (wing as you call it). I'm not sure if the Impala and Alero have the same width on the trunk, but I do know that the styles are different, and the Impala's spoiler looks more formal compared to the Grand Am/Alero, which seems more of an afterthought.
You want the spoiler to be at the end of the trunk edges, similar to how the stock one is. The bolting is just that... a bolt hole. |
I got s pic of what it looks like on the alero I'll upload it later but it looks nice! Went up to Gibsons in neenah on Friday and did it
Pic or it didn't happen! ;)

Nvm that was the pic I did at auto and recycling in fredonia
Looks nice but it seems off by a centimeter or 2
Id like to see it bolted in. because it may make me want to keep my alero
Really? A spoiler is going to decide wether to keep the car or not?
Sheesh.. Pretty pathetic. |
That's about as ridiculous as it gets... that's like me saying "If I don't get wheels, I'm getting rid of my car"
I didn't really have it centered much and it looks kinda off like I said it still has a bolt in it
interesting.. lets see more pics!
I'll take some more when I go out there next
still waiting
I no I have not had m such time to go I work 6 days a week 5 till 4 and by the time I drive 1/4 of the way out there they would be closed my only day off is sunday
-_- no one knows how to take a joke around here. I wouldn't decide to keep my car just because of a wing.

How would we know you were joking? You didn't put a ;) or a lol. |
sorry. I forgot the winky face LOL

Well if you don't have wheels on it the car does seem fairly impractical... Just sayin |
