LSD?what trim levels

What trim levels, if any, have a limited slip diff standard? If none do is there a lsd that i can install?

homegrown 03-08-2017 03:02 PM

The Alero was never offered with a limited-slip differential, regardless of engine or transmission. There used to be one or two companies around that would retrofit the stock open differential to behave like a LSD.
A few members have swapped in different transmissions that either came with or can be retrofitted with a limited-slip differential.
Otherwise you're out of luck.

tw0123 03-09-2017 02:29 PM

Lol that was in 2015... Pretty sure they're long gone by now ;)

00redse 03-09-2017 03:47 PM

Indeed. Still couldn't hurt to hit him up. Those guys were hardcore GM 4 cyl peeps back in the day.

Quaife makes an actual LSD for the Getrag F23.

No idea if Team Green is still around, a lot of j-body retailers and aftermarket manufacturers went out of business or don't offer anything anymore for this platform.

Thanks; I did not know that.
They tend to be quite expensive though; if memory serves, I shelled out over $1000 for the Quaife in my F40.

I had heard that they stopped producing stuff for this platform.
If anyone's feeling lucky, Milzy might still have my old 4T45-E (fortified with Raybestos Blue Plate clutches and 3.42 gears....). Still can't believe I just gave it to him when he swapped in my F40.

Hahaha that's a good one!!!! I'll never talk to that *!$*$$***!!! After getting screwed over on the drtc/timing cover...

If you wanted to see if he still had it laying around, I'd consider buying it directly from you (what's 1 more piece of your car going into mine anyways hahaha) but I'll never deal with milzy...

Lsd

If your interested I have an EP LSD for the 4t45e sitting here. I should also have a set of aluminum accumulator pistons and blue plate clutches. I was collecting the parts for a trans build up but my GAGT was totaled out.

If your interested I would like to see it go to someone that will use it. My only concern is I don't know how much shipping would cost and if there would be any concern shipping internationally. What do think a fair price would be for the LSD? I believe they cost around $600 to be converted.
