I have come upon the most opportune aid in repairing some of the body issues with my vehicle. The girlfriend's uncle had purchased a silver 2002? 2.4 twin cam Alero to repair his identical gold colored Alero. He was only after the seats and much of the engine, which is different than mine anyway, and upon request he has allowed me to trade out anything before he scraps it out.

I will post up pictures later but so far I have switched out the mirrors and the hood (which has hydraulics!) with the front and rear bumpers to come as well as a few other small details. Oh, and the headlights.

Edit: Sadly my front fender which is dented cannot be replaced as the top section on the scrap vehicle is completely rusted through and cannot be reattached to the bumper.

After swapping on the mirrors and hood I noticed a difference in paint color and I merely assumed it was a bit sun bleached. However, after some further digging it appears that the parts Alero is a 2000 which used a slightly different silver color from my 2004.

I will most likely keep both the hood and mirrors on but I will resort to fixing the bumpers I have on the vehicle.

I also got a pair of headlights one of which is in excellent condition so I will have to clean another to match.
