gabriel ultra(G-force) struts
Okay I have a fairly simple question to ask. I know this question has been asked before, and all I just want to know is if any body has actually used this product or products in their actual vehicles, not just what they heard others say. I’m in need of new struts and I’m considering on buying Gabriel ultra struts (g-force struts) or sensa-tracs from Monroe, I know most of u are bias on kyb for some odd reason, but can some one actually explain to me why the hell is kyb so much better than those other two brands? I would also be buying h&R drop springs soon, but I need struts first. I also know its kind of best to use kyb agx struts on lowering springs, but I don’t want to spend $4oo on struts when I also have to buy shocks for my 89 mustang, that will run me close to 1200 for a complete quality set up from blistein. Thanks

gabriel>monroe>kyb
kyb is a stiffer strut for better handling. most people don't like the softer ride from monroe or gabriel. if you buy monroe, they have a buy 4 for the price of 3 rebate going on until the end of october. |
Gfore and monroe are factory replacement spec. The kyb's are for aftermarket performance, they generally tolerate lowering better than oem spec struts
|
wait i did that wrong it was supposed to be kyb>monroe>gabriel lol

Okay, but I have seen all of this companies videos and they all claim the same thing, same or better than OEM, even kyb. Has anybody actually tried the gabriels ultra? |

dont recall anyone on here with em, you would probably be the first to try em. i know im getting kyb's when i get new suspension. |
I don’t know, I think I will give them a try. They have been around for 100 years or so, they also won an award for the ultras like in 2004 or some. They do military vehicle shocks and struts, so I think they kind of deserve a chance.
|
give em a shot, let us know.
|
Yep.... Do it!
|
i think i will, they got them on sale on rockauto.com
|
don't forget to use the 5% discount code!
|
what discount code?
|
|
KYB GR-2 = factory replacement
KYB AGX = better than factory Can't wait to drive my Ho with these AGX's and sway bars in! :) |
KYB AGX's are popular, I think I'm going to make the right decision when tax time come for new struts... any input?
|
Do it if you can find em

shockwarehouse.com is where i got my AGX's. They didn't have the fronts in stock so they ordered some (took like 3 days) then they shipped...got them within a week :) Like manwhore said....when lowering you go with AGX. Stock replacements WILL wear out faster. If you have stock springs and just want to replace struts....go with regular ones. |
Some KYB's and Monroes are made in USA. Gabriels are made in Mexico or China, and aren't cheaper than ones made in USA.

Thanks for the info! Of course I like buying American made. On a side note or rather a little story. My economics teacher in college thinks its good to buy from the Chinese and other foreign nations, now I'm sure it makes sense for the "global market", but how does that benefit those who want succeed in life become dare I say, rich! LOL... I hope that last paragraph makes some sense. |

My Japanese made bicycle suggests otherwise. Miitsubishi, Suzuki, also suggest otherwise. Also, from my personal experience, other branded Japanese cars are not better than a Ford. |
boo ford
|
I may be odd man out here but I am a ford person...Once I can no longer get a decent alero or other olds product I will be back with ford as far as cars go...I generally like ford trucks and suv's better although I will give gm having more comfortable seats which is why if/when I eventually get to buy my suv it may be a denali because I have a somewhat screwed up back...I did notice however that the navigator has decent seats so that would likely be the first option

My flux capaciter was made in the usa by doc still works....just kiddin
