I recently had my tranny flushed and filled with Royal Purple A/T fluid. This stuff is amazing. It's fully synthetic and used by many performance shops/cars. I instantly noticed a difference with my car, it runs better, shifts quiter, and I get much better gas milage! I also (today) just changed my oil with Royal Purple 5w30 synthetic oil and noticed that it runs really smooth and idle is better. I highly recommend this stuff in any scenario whether you're racing or just getting groceries.

Price: About $9/quart for the tranny fluid and about $5/quart for the oil

interesting, ill have to look into it. how many miles you got on the alero?

1WhiteOSV 04-19-2005 01:26 PM

60,000 on the dot

I know that if you switch to synthetic oil you can't move back to all regular oil ever again because of the way the engine wears using each. Is the same true with synth trans fluid?

justinusaf 04-19-2005 01:41 PM

most transmissions come stock with fully synthetic fluid

Daytona 04-19-2005 01:43 PM

Is that what was packed with our Aleros from the factory - full synth?

justinusaf 04-19-2005 01:47 PM

Ill have to check the manual to be sure...

that whole thing about switching from reg to synthetic back and forth is a myth in my opinion. My 96 S-10 i used regular or synthetic..whatever I had at my house at the time...i switched between the 2 kinds all the time and NEVER once had a problem. But, with my alero, there'd be no reson TO switch back to regular anyway..synthetic is so much better.

yea plus its not like like you change ur tranny fluid all the time so spending the money would probably be worth it......good stuff 1white

I have run Royal Purple in all of my vehicles which include 2004 Yamaha V Star,
2003 Honda Shadow, 1999 Alero with 110,000 miles on her and my new addition 1996 Honda Magna. I gues I should be a company rep hehehehehe but then again my company uses it in all there boats and barges Oh I forgot I am a Towboat Captain :pimp: and also my boss/owner of the company lets us use the RP for free heheheheheh sorry I have everything Royal Purple ,grease, assembly lube, spraycan like WD/40 but better heheh, gear oil 90wt anyhow I sure can vouch for it..

Definatly, Royal Purpal is the only thing I use in all everything. Just seems to make things run better and longer!!

Alero2k4 02-16-2006 03:50 PM

I put RP in my engine and it started easier and idled better from the moment it was put in.

Alero2k4 02-16-2006 04:52 PM

I put RP in my engine and it started easier and idled better from the moment it was put in. I am not following the hype...just my own personal experience, I am sold on it. The only problem is, there is only one dealer with about 150 miles so they charge 8 bux a quart...

(It wouldn't let me edit my post, so sorry for the double post...)
