whats the question?
|
I would not buy from them people have had trouble with MPracing.
Go here http://www.milzymotorsports.com/ they also have PCMs. |
if there reputable dealer or not if there good i really dont care about them just there products and there tuning abilitys i just wanna make sure its not a waste
|
no it is not a waste but you could spend the money on an HP tuner and just tune the the PCM like that also you could change the tune when you want to. But milzys sells PCMs for 100 bucks.

Are you implying that you are shopping for a used PCM from MPRacing? |
Guiguilandry is trying to get a refund after waiting 3 months for his stuff he bought from MPRacing... you'd be better off getting it from MMS.
|
no mpracings pcm and i really cant take a chance of tuning on my own even the most idiot proof computer stuff i screw up
|
It's understandable not wanting to tune the car yourself. I bought an HPTuners mainly because with the new heads, and the cam in the future, it would be better for me to tune it myself.
As for MPRacing, a lot of guys are having problems with that company. I personally did not have a problem, but that was also before all this stuff starting happening. As of right now, you'll pay for something, and never get it. It's not a matter of quality, it's getting the thing you bought. My Alero is getting it's parts from Ben at WOTTech. |
^iv heard nothing but good things about WOTT tech
|
I know that they are called ECU (Engine Control unit) in a lot of cars, esp Japanese cars, but in GM cars and trucks they are called PCM (Powertrain Control Modual)
Not breaking them for ya, but it will help you out in your search a little bit better ;) |
Mail order or tune it yourself. Either way you will like it. There are so many knowledgeable people floating through the forums that use HP, support is not an issue anymore. Some may even consider it fun!:scpimp:
|
ok cool thanks guys ill try to shy away from MPRacing.
|
i just bought a pcm from mpracing and installed it today to find out my car won't start even after doing the relearn procedure. I did bypass my passlock a couple of years ago so I'm not sure what there is to relearn. I put my old computer back in and it starts right up.
Does the security system have to be enabled when installing the pcm? |
its probably the fact that is mpracing... a lot of people on here have had tons of trouble with their products, iv literally never heard a good thing about them.

Assuming you bought the MPRacing PCM from a previous owner. The PCM could be "locked" as in the following info from HP tuners: Quote:
So the designer could have built that into the PCM, or it just may not be compatible with your model car . |
thanks for shining some light on my situation. makes sense.
