derek_ski99 03-16-2006 08:15 PM

do you drive a oldsmobile maximalero? ok then, no

b-spot 03-17-2006 01:25 AM

Yes they will, as long as you take the projectors out of the maxima headlights and put them in your alero housing (assuming they aren't too big)

you would need to locate the ballasts, too. the hid bulbs need the ballast to run them. the projector itself is not really that important. you can run them without it.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

If you attempt to run a D2S bulb in a stock housing you will realize you just wasted a lot of money. First of all it won't fit, second your light output will look like poop because the bulb isn't rebased for the proper focal length. Not to mention that even with the proper focal lenght HID's in halogen reflective housings are glare factories, and you should ALWAYS retrofit a projector.

glare factory? my hids work fine sans projectors

retrofitting a projector doubles the cost of hid for what...a small bit of glare? how retarded is that

did you steal these hids? hids from maximas are one of the most stolen things of cars these days

What b-spot is saying is absolutely true. You can put in HID's with 9006 bulbs, and it will work but compared to a projector-retrofitted HID kit, you are comparing apples to oranges. With stock halogen housings, you are just putting in a really really bright light, and the result is that it sprays out a TON of glare. It might look good compared to halogen bulbs, but it isn't even close to as good as with projectors.

To sum it up....

stock halogen < silverstar halogen (or comparable)
silverstar halogen << HID 9006
HID 9006 <<<< HID w/ Projector Retrofit
