Cleared / Painted Headlight & Painted Calipers

3 Attachment(s)
Hello all,

Lots of fun the last few days. I didn't see alot of pictures of the red so I'm throwing mine into the mix. I cleared my lights and since they were apart, I painted the bezels. Since the silicone was drying, I went ahead and painted my calipers red too. Paint is supposed to set for a while, so I don't have pics with the wheels on yet either and I don't have the the passenger side pics yet since it got dark and started raining. So hopefully, more tomorrow.

Good work on the headlights.

I would get some paint and take care of the rust on the rotors.

I'm not a huge fan of the painted bezels, but for the style...as far as the quality goes it looks like you did a good job so I hope you like them and enjoy! :thumb: <-- monkey thumb :p

Good job man, but that plate with some racing guy on it needs to golol
But make sure you post up some pics of the car with the wheels on it.

Just curious how you got your lights apart,I tried to do that to mine but theyre like glued or sealed or something and I dont want to break em,Let me know the low down on what I gotta do cuz it looks good.Calipers look good as well.oh and do the orange reflectors pop out?

Use the search tab. Cleared corners etc.

what the hell is with your bumper under the headlight!?!?

myowneq 11-30-2006 12:16 AM

Thanks for the comments and compliments. The paint I used for the headlight is the same color as the car, but I guess the combination of photography and the headlight lens distorted the picture. In person, it's darker.

As for taking them apart, yeah, follow those directions in the How To and take it slow. The outside corner is the biggest bitch of it all. Both on the cover and the inside plastic chrome. The amber lens pops out real easy. It took me a few hours since I'm anal about cleaning all the old goo out. Not a bad project.

As for my "plate with some racing guy", Mark stays. :) HUGE Nascar fan here. :D

Actually my pasanger side front does that and its only recentlydue to the accident...so maybe there is soem history to your car you dont know about?? :rolleyes2:

oh and please loose the nascar plate... very "hick-ish" imo

alerored04 11-30-2006 02:02 AM

nah the headlight sag is a common prob on our cars. Not sure why but mine has it too. Im not sure im a fan of the color matched, i like mine to stand out so i did mine black. props on a good job though.

cavaliers60 11-30-2006 02:34 AM

I got one of them plates on my car too. haha lol Mine's better though. :D

billytheman1188 11-30-2006 09:33 AM

After really looking at the license plate holder, i think the aleros would look much better without the front plate. But if i wanted to take it off, there are probably screws holding that in right?

strtrydr 11-30-2006 10:32 AM

yes there is screws/bolts holding it on ... but I got lucky since you dont need to have the front plate in Arizona :)
