Need help tunning

Can some one help me with tunning my car?
I'm using the HP tuner program.

jturkey69 04-02-2007 11:46 AM

i think there is a forum section on dhp's website for tuning and help...a few people on here are learning as they go with alot of reading involved, but jabartram, jackal2000, and mfuller are three that i can think of right away that are running dhp

jackal2000 04-02-2007 12:21 PM

you would be better off asking this question on nbodypower if you havent already.

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 01:25 PM

Well I did ask this question on Nbodypower, but there isn't alot of members on that forum yet.
I'm using the HP tuner not the DHP.

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 01:44 PM

Hmm, I thought that I could get some help here.
But if it's a problem that I asked for help here, then I will not be posting anymore in this thread

HazMatt24 04-02-2007 01:46 PM

it's not a problem that you asked for help here, I think jackal was saying to try the other forum because he thought there would be more people there that knew about the tuner than here.

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 01:54 PM

Ohh okies, well I have asked on the other forum, but the thing is there isn't alot of people using the HP tuner on their N body's.

TurboAleroGT40, take a few minutes and register @ this site: http://www.hollandms.com/ The owner and resident tuning guru is Gary Holland, and lives about 15 minutes away from Randy. On his site and forums, you'll find all the help you'll ever need. :) I'm a newb @ tuning myself, so don't be overwhelmed with it all....it will come in time.

It's not a problem that you asked here, I think you're misunderstanding Jackel. I'm sure he didn't mean his post the way you took it.

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 05:54 PM

Yeah I misunderstood him, sorry man.
Well thanks Youngblood77

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 06:06 PM

Let's see if they can help me, because I really dont have the time to learn to tune the car. Just want to pay someone to tune the car.

Thanks again man for you're help.

yea i tried that. i went to a local tuner shop and they effed my shit up for about $200. if you want a quality tune you will most likely have to learn and do it yourself.

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 06:28 PM

Ohh damn that sucks man, Hmm wel the only way they can tune my car is via internet because remember I live on Aruba hihi...
There is a guy here that tunnes cars , but he works with Microtech standalone system, hmm I' m gonna ask him if he can take a look at the hp tuner program

SweetNLow 04-02-2007 06:29 PM

i think the reason why no1 is able to help you out is because i dont even know anyone besides blackjack and maybe spliner and jackel on here that have any type of tuner.

so if no1 on here has 1 nobody is really gonna be able to help you out

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 06:36 PM

Hmm thats bad to hear bro, hmmm but how does the people here tune their cars ?
Because the best mod ever I think is to tune your car
But lets see

except for the small handful of us on here no one has enough performance modifications to require a retune. if it was cheaper to do then im sure more people would get tuners. not only is it the $$ ($400USD for DHP) but it is very "labor intensive" so to speak, meaning a perfect tune takes a lot of time and im not sure a perfect tune is attainable because there are so many variables involved.

that being said, it doesnt matter what mods you have. the tuning process is always the same so once you learn it you are good to go. the problem i had with the shop that "tuned" my car is they tuned it like they tune the imports that come in there and our cars pcm has tables that imports dont and vice versa. also, you can not expect a good tune from a dyno session. our cars benefit the most from being "street tuned". i can see that costing a lot of $$$$ to have a pro do it.

my advice to you is to pick a tuner, DHP or HP (im partial to DHP obviously) and sign on to their forums and just start reading. :coolio:

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 06:56 PM

Wel I did that allready , I have the Hp tuner , hmm well I dont know with DHP but with Hpt they dont really help you because there isn't alot of people using thier software on the 3.4 engines. The only person that I know of is Spyhunter but he has the LD9 engine so it;s not the same as mine. But I don't know if the tune is totaly diff or they have some similair things but I do not know.

jackal2000 04-02-2007 07:32 PM

there is a bigger difference between 4 and 6 cylinders than between 2 6 cylinders i.e. the 3800 crowd. read how they do it and then apply it to yourself. granted, im sure the HPT website is full of v8 guys so im not sure how much help you will really get. shoulda gone DHP man....

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 07:57 PM

Yeah I know but the thing is that I really needed the tuner and the only available was the Hp one, because the DHP you had to wait 4 to 6 weeks or something like that.
I needed it ASAP because I had installed the big injectors so that why.

jackal2000 04-02-2007 08:04 PM

yea there is a reason there is a wait, now you know exactly why.

you still havent stated what you need help tuning?

TurboAleroGT40 04-02-2007 08:11 PM

Lets put it like this Every thing lol, hmmm I have semi tune th injectors it idles ok, hmm it's a little rich at WOT.
Hmm I think for the most part the timming, and fine tunning the fuel
