Ideas for Striping Tails

I really wasnt a big fan of them, but even after redding out my entire tail light im not pleased with it, and ive decided i dont want to smoke them. I did these patterns on mspaint, I think some of em look pretty good actually, but id like a second opinion, and a third, and a fourth, and so-on. lol. um well here they are and tell me what you think is best, or if you think theyre all fugly:

Stock (w/ Red Outs):

Idea A:

Idea B:

Idea C:

Idea D:

Any comments, ideas, suggestions, are welcome. Im open minded so i wont bash you if you hate em lol. just tryin to get ideas. Thanks!

Don't do it! Step away from the tails.

go big or go home

personally, i like the unmodified alero tails. its a clear indicator of what car we drive... no other car has tails like ours.

Stripping on some tails of our cars look ok but with ur car it looks really clean so leaving them how they are will look the best.

true but idk, mine looks too stock, which i dont like. the only reason i brought up striping is because i wanted to see if something different would look good, but now im considering either leaving it alone or using some light smoke vinyl from rvinyl, but i wanna see how that specific product looks on an alero, n idk anyone thats used the light smoke film on here. what id really love to do is shave the trunk lights, but i dont have that kind of time and money.

personally i dont want pitch black, i think itd contrast too much on my car, and that second alero is ugly as hell. im thinking of a light smoke, but i wanna see if anyone used that vinyl i was talking about to see how it looks first.

Gr1m 08-16-2007 01:26 AM

lol thats what the first pic is, 20% tinted, just do like 35% if u dont want it too dark

clutch1 08-16-2007 01:29 AM

How'd you tint them? I got bored one day and tried putting some 20% on the Park Ave but the tails had too much of a contour.

But really Ralero.. dont stripe! That's all I have to say.

Anderbra, I think it is, makes custom tails. They're expensive but they look damn nice, search around on google and you'll run into his site I think.

well i guess im not gonna stripe em since 80% is saying "no" and i really wasnt too big on them anyway. btw if you used a film and tried to stick it on a contour, you should use a heat gun or a hair dryer to make it stretchy and malleable. thats what i did when i redded out my mom's rear turn signals on her yukon xl. its the same idea

Kilroy 08-16-2007 02:40 AM

You could always put pantyhose opn them!!

Gack, heatshrinking. I tried that on my rear window because it was too curved for just the film. It had bad results, haha. I'll just use niteshade whenever I get around to getting some sometime here.

greenbastard 08-16-2007 03:11 AM

if you use niteshades you can do anything you want but remember the tint melts onto your tail light so if you tape it you will have to pull it off when wet. this is what i did and i love it.

Ya, nothing like blocking out 2/3 of your brake lights so the guy behind you can't see you stopping.

pawzbear 08-16-2007 10:05 AM

DONT... especially the edging, contoured pinstriping... or risk looking like my car a few years ago. Yeh i pinstriped the side of the car as well, later. *shudders*
