Few Turbo tuning questions

A buddy of mine picked up a turbo setup from a 2.2eco today for cheap, kind of an impule buy, but he's going to put it on his 2.4L in a Sunfire.

I did some research so far, and now I'm curious on a few different things here.

it's a T3/T4 turbo, reletively small intercooler, and and I don't remember who makes the wastegate and BOV. Right now he's planning on running around 5psi for starters, so he doesn't blow stock internals hopefully (he already said if he does he'll upgrade though).

So installing will be the easy part it seems, but once it's in I'm lost on the little details.
Lets see..

2 Bar Map sensor? Will he need this guy? Will this work if so?

Wideband? Sounds to me like this is an air/fuel gauge? He's got a simple airfuel gauge, does he need this to go along with it?

Injectors? Are there any bigger injectors that fit directly on that are recommended?

Intake manifold.. keep it stock or will it need an upgrade?

Boost controller? Any recommended brands/ setups for this?

PCM.. will it need a an aftermarket one? just a reflash? Is this going to be possible to tune with a laptop/ obdII/ something or is it going to need professional help?

Any other stray sensors/ lines that need to be relocated or anything?

Also, any recommended engine upgrades right off the bat? Cams?

Sorry if I'm ignorant, this is new to me. I tried searching some.

If its a turbo setup for the ecotec, then he's gonna need a diff. turbo manifold. It can be a convoluted process for the inexperience.

The stock internals can take only so much, and I bet he will turn up the boost once he gets the feel of it. So do it right the first time and have him first rebuild the engine with forged internals.

Yea, we were already planning on tracking down a manifold or just welding up a one-off one.

His engine's got 297000 miles on it, it's hardly worth rebuilding, if anything he's planning on buying a different used engine to build.

WOW! That's a lot of mileage on an LD9! I thought my 189,000 was impressive.. he better be building an engine and not boosting that one.. lol

Shhh, it's not my car so if he blows it before he gets a new engine it won't be my problem. :)
How about a little info on the turbo aspect, not the throwing a rod through the block as pect :p

But yea Ion, upper 200,000 miles, great place to start modifying a car, right? (btw it's the one with the ugly body kit)

Yeah...let's worry about getting another engine before we worry about a turbo setup.
