professional opinions needed
well i finally got my tsudo 4-2-1 header. so it's almost time to install that... but i'm looking at just doing the whole exhaust.
where i am... my choices are limited for places to buy mufflers... but here's the options heres the one i'm leaning towards http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...25.jsp#reviews or this one http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...Bx%2B9-in..jsp the others http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...p#BVQAWidgetID http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...Bx%2B3-in..jsp and one other question the header doesn't have a gasket for the 2-1 part... whats the best way to make a gasket? |
i like the third one

Find a Dynomax Super Turbo.
|
i would go with dynomax super turbo those sound the best on the 2.4 and eco why cant you order one on ebay?
dam ion beat me to it |
i suppose ebay... since it takes paypal. just cant order off sites that require a credit card... and i've also been thinking of dual exhaust... whats the easiest way? and i assume glasspacks would sound terrible
|
run a singal pipe back to the muffler then dual outlets from the muffler to the bumper with what ever tips you want on it
|
The Vortex mufflers I have heard were not real loud. I have a cousin that put one on his marquis. If he wouldnt have told me he had an aftermarket muffler, I wouldnt have even noticed. Another cousin has a vortex on his cammed 5.7 liter vortec chevy. It is not really that loud either. I wouldn't really recommend vortex mufflers.
|
well... i want loud... so no vortex
|
Also, the Ecotec will sound a little less rash than the 2.4 regardless of the exhaust you get.
This would be more to replace your original... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-14210/ |
Magnaflow, any style, as big as you can fit, with a resonator after the cat.
|
the 2-1 piece is the bottom flange and it can be done at any exhaust shop, and get the dynomax ST muffler, its great on ecos, i can do a clip if ya wanna hear it
|
Colonel,
I agree with spilner, MAGNAFLOW ftw! I can also do a sound clip if you want to hear. I have a magnaflow highflo-cat (#99204HM), magnaflow muffler(#10416) as a resonator (to ELIMINATE the rasp), and a magnaflow muffler (#14807) out the back. These are the product numbers for the equipment I have and you can get them from planetmagnaflow.com. I can vouch for them as they are a good company with excellent customer service. -Smurf- |

i didn't feel like creating a new thread. but it's opinion times again.
heres my thoughts for a new setup. from my tsudo header. have 2.5" pipe to a resonator (not sure on the length yet) http://cgi.ebay.ca/High-Flow-Univers...item4839637f58 then to this muffler the magnaflow muffler one. http://cgi.ebay.ca/12277-Magnaflow-M...item20af46352e what i'm looking for is it to flow better than stock. alot better to support further mods please feel free to comment |
Do It!
just watch out for the leak that happens with the Tsudo Header. |
no worries. there is a machine shop next door. might get the faces machined.
how long of a resonator. and should i lose any performance or mpg by removing the cat? |
loosing the cat will only make performance and milage go up you'll have the check engine light on until you are able to turn it off using HP Tuners.
EDIT: also read through this thread http://www.ecotecforum.com/forums/sh...t=Tsudo+Header it should give you a heads up with what can happen wth the Tsudo header and how to fix it. |
Resonator as long as you can fit. I wish mine was bigger,I dont remember the length from top of my head.
