Suspension
I'm thinking of purchasing these:

Struts are a great choice and will leave you smiling.
|
nice struts, are you getting springs??? IMO get new strut plates for the new stuts too...

I see. I was wondering about the plates. My only concern is why these are so much cheaper than PFYC. I've never shopped on this site before... And the third link is the springs I'm getting. I read that eibach is only a little better than dropzone with a much higher price. |
E Bay much?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-A...fAcc essories I will take a check for half of the savings! |

same here i've looked at them for prices after goggleing them. I've seen that they had good pricing... as for ebay make sure its what your getting. |
I got mine from ebay. Saved a ton. If I were to do it again I would go with H&R springs rather than my intrax's. I have heard the H&R's perform much better.

those struts are sold individually |
yeah, like grim said, on PFYC they sell them in pair, its almost the same price...
|
i run AGX, purchased them from ebay, worth every penny.
|
best option without going for custom coil overs.
|
AGX are the adjustable ones? so i could have a nice soft ride, or aggressive ride with minimal body roll?
|
They are adjustable but the range is not very large. 4 settings, number one is pretty stiff to start with.
|
Ordered them off ebay and ordered the strut mounts and dropzone springs from racingworks.... maaan auto-x will start getting fun now.

Is the softest setting as soft as lets say the FE2? Also is the 2nd stiffest one stiff enough to run 2nd stiffest in front and stiffest in the back? |
Right Now I have the stock struts with the Dropzone springs. I also have been thinking about the AGX Struts to get as well. How much better will it be then the stock struts with the Dropzones? Besides adjustable stiffness, will it make the car any lower or higher then the stocks?
|
No ride height changes. That is accomplished with the springs. I can't say anything about comparison to stock suspension. I have been lowered for years. It is stiffer on 2 that the gr2's I switched from. Honestly if you are worried about ride comfort these are not for you. The springs you choose have a lot to do with it too, it's not like the strut can magically soften the spring rate. I don't think you guys are understanding the purpose of a strut. They are there to limit the rebound of the spring. A soft strut will allow the spring a little more travel thus making a very slightly more comfortable ride. By pairing a stiff spring with a stiff strut it removes the ricer bounce so the rebound of the spring is slowed instantly rather than see sawing up and down. The majority of your ride quality is covered by the springs. If you are buying AGX's you had better be lowering the car and if that is what you are doing then forget about a comfortable ride.

Not really worried about comfort. I want to know if the range is big enough to create oversteer on track. Will having a stiffer rear by 1 degree create neutral handling? I hate having a thicker non adjustable rear swaybar just to do that.... |
it can create enough body roll to kick your ass, and keep understeer away, yeah, they'll help for oversteer too

I guess you mean reduce body roll! |
With the rear swaybar you will be able to create oversteer with a touch to the brake pedal. I have a large rear sway bar as well. I love the feel with this setup. Do yourself a favor and go buy spyhunter's agx's that he just posted on here for $250 for the whole set. You will not be disappointed.
