Fake wall ?

i cant stand not having room in my with my subs trunk and not worry about things hitting them.. so i was thinking of doing a fake wall to basically making the trunk into 2 separate parts with half inch wood and cloth it or whatever to make it nicee.. having the subs directly behind the seats facing inward with back towards the "wall" and then open space for the other back half.. has anyone done this or have opinions

since im getting no replies.. anyone against it for any reasons you can think of ??

wrong section.

and my subs face the front of the car. pretty sure they dont hit the seats. then i can just pile stuff in my trunk around the sub box. a wall would cut out alot of space that we dont already have

yeah... you kinda posted this in the site suggestions..... Don't think that will help this website.

The only suggestion i would have is that you should test the box position before you move forward with this. My subwoofer box is sealed, and when i faced the subs into the cabin, i got virtually no sound or BASS, as i was expecting i should have. When they are facing the rear, and personally for me(against the rear of the trunklid), they POUND. If you build this wall, you may be sacrificing significant results that you would get else-wise if you kept your setup the way it is now. Yes it will give you more space and protect your speakers, but may defeat the purpose of having your subs. Then again we placed my friends ported box facing into the cabin and it was actually louder. Place your box how you plan to and see if it sounds the same... :/

i did this on my car, one half is the air ride and behind it is the subs and amps

two words: speaker grills

seriously though I've actually considered doing this as well, but it was more for cosmetics than to protect the subs. I still planned on having the subs exposed in the rear of the trunk

My subs are walled off in my trunk. The subs face fire into the cabin and the box seals around the trunk opening.

Our cars can actually be louder with the subs firing into the cabin. It just comes down to how big your box is. I'm doing ~152s currently with 2 tens.

loudes sealed or ported in our trunks that i have found is the sub back, port back pushed as close to the back of the trunk as possible w/o it touching.

Gr1m 01-12-2010 12:59 AM
