Emergency Brake Light Staying On
I went to start my Alero the other day and when I put my E brake down the "brake" light was still lit. It's been sitting for about a month and the battery has died twice. I didn't get to drive it to see if it would shut off.
Any ideas? |
Check brake fluid level.
|
If the level's good, the sensor is effed
Mine is unpluged |
He's talking the ebrake so isn't that a diff light? I'd think it has something to do with the sensor down under the lever that knows when the lever is lifted
|
I think it's the same light.... isn't it? It just says BRAKE...?
|
The Ebrake light is on the tach, right?
And the brake light is on the speedo? Or i could be wrong. |
All i see is BRAKE on the tach...
|
Just says "BRAKE"
I'll check fluid levels next time I go to start it |
Either low fluid, ebrake is on, or pressure differs between brake circuits (aka a line is leaking or something).
You probably notice pull if the pressure differential was the case.. I agree with all of them, fluid level! |
ya, check the fluid. thats what mine was.
|
Thanks all
|
Ya... it is th e-brake and a brake system warning light mine does not say brake tho, it is..... (!)(P)
|
mine used to stick, it's the position sensor
|
Or it could simply be the fluid level.
If your car shows the (!)(P) it was made in Canada. Or at least thats how it goes now-a-days. If its in pictures rather than words, its a Canadian built car, GM at least... |
I always wondered why?... Or if there was anything else the did different.
