porting stock tb?

If it is possible what gains would i get from taking away the "lip" from inside the stock tb? if it sounds stupid and not worth the time by all means let me know. i was just wondering because i was cleaningy air filter and saw the lip and thought without it it would get a little more air into the intake mani.

it would be easier, and more efficient (in performance AND your wallet) to just get a bigger one. as for gains, on the LD9, no more than 10hp unless you get boosted. (going boosted pretty much requires you to go bigger anyway. ;) )

Unless you have engine work, adding that much more air into your system can cause some problems. Upgrading your TB is only necessary if you've increased the amount of air your manifold(s) can handle.

it's possible to do, if you've never ported anything before I would reccomend not doing it, and I would also reccomend doing it on a junk yard TB if your going to do it, also your going to need a tune.

a ported throttle body no more than 10hp? You're lucky to see any gain at all.
