no sound and traoubleshooting tips

very wierd never seen this before. everything powers on. stereo amp everything. yes i have no sound. complete silence even thought it seems like everything is working fine. i checked fuses in amp and stereo all wires and connections. idk what the culprit is the headunit or amp. i have a 4 channel amp running to speakers so the headunits internal amp is off. when i turn it off still silence. both the amp and stereo are a year old amp is mb quart stereo is kenwood excelon. any help appretiated also just noticed the protection light is on to that never happens wtf all my connections are clean and tight.

I would say the amp. If a kenwood exlon unit is having trouble is might as well be the end of the world.

yea but i took it out and no sound so how would that be the amp if i take it out .

If you checked all the connections, fuses, and pulled the amp then the problem is the headunit. Assuming that the volume is turned up....lol!

Well you said the internal amplifier of the head unit was turned off...

If the amps protection light is on its toast. Now whether it took the head unit out with it remains a mystery.

Gotta ask, do you have it on mute?... I acciddently did that one time then spent an hour checking wiring before playing with the remote and figuring out that's what that button did... If not, what he said^
