did a little project today.

so i still have yet to hook up my spray, i have one line ran but havent gotten around to it yet because im waiting to buy HPT so i can tune the car for it and have to take care of a transmission issue, but will probably install it completely soon just not use it until i got everything good and ready.

but i made a switch plate for my nitrous kit, and its sitting in the cubby hole that is for the radio. i got it perfect on the left side but the right went a little bad, but its okay it turned out pretty good to me and you wont notice the crack once i have the plate locked in place and its all put back together. just have a little more work i gotta do and it will be done, will update once its finished.

plate before painted.

plate painted black and clear coated.

there will also be one more switch added on to it later im thinking, and on the end will be an oldsmobile sticker, cant wait for that. :)

sleepyalero 11-29-2011 02:27 AM

push button is purge, blue is power to system, red is bottle warmer

Nice....how big of a nitrous shot is it? 50?

kwhauck 11-29-2011 09:47 AM

Looks good, could have used a little more fine tuning on your plate. Hope its a wet kit....

Love the switch set up.. I was thinking of putting switches there as well if I should ever need additional switches in my car.

Sweet

I like the idea....but poor execution. You'll know for next time though...you may want to even redo it, but I like what you got going! Measure twice...cut once...lol!

sleepyalero 11-29-2011 03:03 PM

well it was kinda just making it straight after it was cut out and grinded a little to much off with the cutting wheel but oh well still got more of the speed limit sign i used and can easily cut out another one. but this one took long enough.

the spray is set for a 55 shot, its a dry kit.

Legit!

Redo it with the proper amount of metal to fill the hole completely lol and leave it the raw finish! Making it black causes it to fight the console black color for blackness.

Redog 11-30-2011 12:52 AM

I like.

Looking to doing something like this in my Delta for line lock, fan switch, and maybe a train horn button :D

hahahahahahahaha that pic is funny, well i rather have it black cause nothing in my car is really silver so it wouldnt blend real well, and i didnt want it to stand out much. but in good time ill make another plate that will fill the whole thing. but im not to worried about it yet. lol

Again, the beauty of working in a steel shop! Shears and CNC punches! Lol thats cool though. Was thinking of doing that in my car. Can you show pics of it all hooked up?

I do agree with C2 though, a better fitting piece of metal would be a bit cleaner look. that's a great spot for the switches though. :coolio:
