auto trans
well according to our manual "no need to change fluid" "only service at dealership" blah blah. I have a new gasket for my trans fluid pan (mine is leaking) and want to change it myself. I think I should be able to drop the pan, replace gasket and put back on, no problem. but I cant find any info on how much fluid it holds, where/ how to change the filter, and I think, the red cap (in pic below) is for adding the trans fluid. anyone have any more info?

The red cap is trans fluid. it takes about 7.5 Quarts for a fluid and filter change.

is there any way to determine if it is low or do you just have to either have it serviced or hope that it is fine and maybe if you get lucky your transmission won't die on you

that helps a ton. any info on filter? agraham- 2.2, not 3400 |
same process im sure.

its also a sealed transmission so to check fluids its probably the same as the 3400

Which way do you turn the plug on the tranny to check fliud level.
Having a bit of a brain fart with this. Towards the front of the car, or the rear. It's snug and I don't want to muscle it the wrong way. Done that before :( |

Any auto parts store will have the correct filter. It comes with a new gasket too. Quote:
Should turn it to the right, when facing it. If not just try it both ways :P |
