I was wondering if anyone had put a SLP Grand Am quad tip exahust on their alero. I am planning on getting this exahust and was wondering what kind of things I need to do for it to fit correctly. I know i will have to make another exahust hanger. I just don't want to go out and buy it to have it not fit. Also if anyone knows where i can get a better deal that $400 for it that would be great.

im pretty sure thats what everyone has who has slp has is the model for the grand am. i dont think they made one for the alero. so yeah it will fit.

All you have to do is cut your bumper a little bit for the extra exhaust tips on the passenger side. Other than that it's an exact fit. You won't have to make another hanger.

I just threw an SLP exhaust on my car a couple months ago. The only modification I had to do was cut the bumper for the passenger side outlet and that was real easy. I didn't like the sound at first but after it got broken in it sounds real nice, I love it. The only thing I found to be a pain in the ass was the exhaust clamps SLP send you. The nuts on mine wouldn't turn for crap so I had to use an impact gun to tighten them. But clamps aren't expensive, if u run into the same problem there only like 2 bux a piece at any auto part store for ones that will actually turn. I got mine from SLP, they had a $50 off sale when I bought it.

yes, it will fit, like the others said you have to cut the bumper if you want to...its not always needed...the pass. side will hang down a little lower though. the alero and grand am are the same car, the only thing different is the front and rear end, they are even using the left over alero doors on GAs now.

^ yup. pretty much everything mechanical on an Alero is the same on the Grand Am. (not EVERYTHING, but damn close)

it even fits on the 4cyl aleros too. but the SLP muffler sounds like crap on the 4's

Thanks alot! I think that getting this exhaust would make my alero a litter different and better sounding. I thought i would have to do some cutting but thats no problem. Has anyone noticed a power increase with the SLP exhaust?

you will gain a little bit somewhere around 8-10hp i think
