Nope, put the front of the car in the air a little bit and got under it. Wasn't easy, took me about 30 minutes for the middle piece and an hour on each side to get it perfect.

Can't help with the tranny line o-ring, but I wouldn't rule it as just oil because it could be tranny fluid with some built up grime and road debris in it, then wiping it off and letting fresh fluid...
