I dropped the pan at 100k to change the filter. Filled it with
Valvoline Dexron-vi full synthetic. I'm at 181,xxx right now and no problems from the trans, and it gets beat on daily.

Swapped in a 3500 to replace my worn out 3400. I had a misfire on cylinder 1 that was from something mechanical, bent valve, bad piston rings, cracked head. Not exactly sure yet, haven't torn it...

I would make what the shop pay for any damages. Go in and tell them its their fault and you want it fixed on their dime. If they don't want to do anything ask for their corporate number.

Since its only cylinder 1 that misfires if there was a crack it would around the the bolt by the alt. Like Nas said, just spray it with brake or carb cleaner.

A vacuum leak from a cracked upper intake manifold will cause a misfire. Those intakes are notorious for cracking if they are tightened a bit too much.

Anyone ever break one? This is the second one I have broke in the last year. Both have broken in the same spot. I do have an aftermarket rear sway bar but I don't think that should matter.
