I've done that for a motor mount bolt (the big bolt that goes through the rubber part of the mount) and it's been in place for at least a couple of years.

I also use Monroe because I actually prefer the softer struts. If you have ever driven through Baltimore City you will understand why!!! That and the Monroe's are often made in USA.
