You mean you don't even take out the A/C center vent?
I had a lot of trouble until I got out the center vent.
I made those clips that hold the vent in, weaker, they don't spring down as far now.
I'd bet it will still stay in just fine, and be easier If/when I need to replace the switch again.
I have more time than money these days, or I would just get a new one.....LOL

I know what would "shine" getting that switch out, a 7MM flex head ratchet wrench.
