First of all, the term you used to describe your intake is offensive. Second of all, what you have done will not bring much cooler air into the engine bay than there would be anyway even if you had not left the stock intake bottom in there. What you have done is equivelant to adding a drop-in K&N filter. And sub 15 second runs with a 2.2 alero with a rigged intake? No matter how good of a driver you are, you won't even break 15's unless you have a lot more done to your engine. My guess is your best run will be in the 17's. Good luck though, post some pics of your slips if you do get sub 15's.
The 2.2 alero is a great engine to mod, so if you want sub 15's, invest a little time and money and you could do it.
