I have a new favorite - Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R. Very sticky; close to a R-compound tire. Stiff sidewalls, and less brand-new tread-depth than most tires (only 9/32"). Exceptionally quiet considering the caliber of tire.....although I can't hear much over my exhaust....
Stole 'em from The Tire Rack @ $104 each (225/45R17 91W).
NOTE: These were on closeout when I bought them; not many left.
