This is all just opinion. Alerocar says get 6000K, Billy says get 8000K, I say get 4300K...it's all about personal preference on which color you want. The brightest is 4300K.

This is a comparison of an Alero with HID's against TSX HID projectors. The first pic is obvioulsy Gr1m's, but I can't remember who posted the second pic, it was awhile ago:
Stock Alero headlights with HID - A lot of glare at a high angle
TSX HID projector - Less glare at a low angle
Stock Alero headlights with HID - A lot of glare above the "hot spots"
TSX HID projectors - No glare above the cutoff
