If you modified the bezel of the main red light, it would look pretty damn good, just cut the entire inner bezel out, that probably wouldnt be hard, and problem solved..
Oh, and as for the Alero being farther down the food chain than the GA?
To put the sales difference in perspective, the Grand Am is GMs "perrennial best seller" (swapping with the cavalier as GMs best selling car quite often), the Alero is part of a car company that no longer exists..
